[release] Calendar V 1.0

Hi guys. Am I glad to be writting this. Ahead of schedule, and much to my surprise everything working (at least I think so) as it should, here it is:

Calendar v1.3.2 (Zip version)

-or-

Calendar v1.3.2 (Rar version)

-or-

Calendar v1.3.2 (Zip - Mirror provided by juno)

-or-

Calendar v1.3 (Zip provided by LoofyGun)

-or-

Calendar v1.3 (Zip - Mirror provided by juno)

[thanks to LoofyGun, juno and d-shade for the mirrors]

Before you download it, however, be advised: The skin kinda sucks, so if a kinda skinner works something up, release it, don't even ask me. The icon sucks too, so go by the same standars. You need the 'Lucida Grande' font, it's not included and I have no plans to do so. Just search around for it. You need the .NET framework for it to work. Also, as it is written on .NET, it's uses like 28 MB of ram, but I'm guessing the real iCal uses way more, and it actually is kinda speedy. Not blazing fast, but on my pc (p4 1.6 ghz) it's quite fast, holler, however, if you speed hogging or whatever issues. I tried to trim it down as best as I could, but some double FOR's you can't avoid >-<

#209227

I found buggiez

1) i cant make an event from 10:30A to 10:30P

Secondly) mini cals kinda messed up see screenshot

C) the events in the day view get mixed up (see above)

#209296

This is...amazing! I completly agree with Duckie. Very nice Calendar clone.

1 suggestion (if you're trying to get Panther iCal):

Make the dialogs a bit less Jaguar. Just fade the pinstripes a bit.

@Ghostwalker- Try changing your dpi. I had a similar problem a while ago. Make it normal size (90, I think), and not Large. That might or might not be the problem.

Great job man! Have you done another calendar clone before? The name liquidware sounds familiar.

ok there tiger, well, #1 you can't make half hour appointments, only 1 hour ones, that is, an appointment can only start at 10:00 not 10:30, I don't know when I'll implement that, or even if I will.

#2 I'll fix the day view, sorry about that.

#3 It's not mixed up, it's just telling you you're also viewing a few days from september. I'll implement another color for that or something like that, again, dunno when.

@nightcrawler1089: thanks man, glad you liked it. it's always nice when one gets encouraged, so thank you. The pinstripe thingies you're referring to will be skinable in the next minor release, probably released later today or tomorrow, not sure, so skinners will be able to change that. I've decided not to meddle anymore with images and such :P Oh, and by the by I'm haulden, I did the first iCal clone, the one released a few months ago in alpha stages. That's probably why the name liquidware sounds familiar

@wizard: sorry there lil buddy. i dunno if it'll be worth the download, but there are tons of great apps written in .net, so you won't just be downloading it for this one :) Also, I think the app will run fine on your system, just tested it on a p3, 433 MHZ and it ran dandy, a lil slow at startup and shutdown, but other than that fine.

@all: alarms and a few surprises coming up for 1.2, which should be coming next week I think.

#209319

The 'Day View' Bug described by lostspyder has been addressed and fixed, please re-download the application from the first post.

Awesome awesome work haulden. Great to see you were able to get this done. I hope you do decide to make half hour appointments though because otherwise the scheduling functionality will be limited.

#209444

this is something that a lot of people have really been waiting for. good work.

oh and on another note, i want to have appointments that start at 8:39. i have a meeting next week that i want to be 6 minutes early for.

@all: v1.1 is out, please re-download the file from the first post. Please replace all files as the format for saving and loading the native (.cal) files has changed. THE APP WILL CRASH if you don't do this. This upgrade includes half hour appointments, you can change that in the 'Appointment Info' dialog window. However, no 39 min. appointments yet, let's not get too carried away. Eventually the application will mold to you, but it is still v1, so bear with me. Also new in 1.1: All images, including main window and dialog backgrounds, are skinable. Let's just hope this application creates a bit more of interest so we can get a skinner to make a good skin for it :P Files are also smaller 'cause I removed some redundant code and a few unnecessary images.

@Ghostwalker: someone mentioned you could fix this by setting the DPI on your screen to something somewhat normal, let's say 90 dpi. Not sure it works, it might, so give it a shot.

#209461

Thanks will do..wait mine is set at the lowest 96dpi

#209468

Havent seen it yet but I will host it ASAP!

WOAH THIS IS AMAZING! Thanks alot!
