only glow and greyscaler effects are working ! the others crash avedesk !!! what could it be ?
xp pro on amd 1500+ gf5 1Gb 2X1152X864 32bpp
all of them work with me ![]()
Obvoiusly some DLL is missing. To find out which, please download
For a live dependency check, open AveDesk with it and click on profile.
Perhaps save the log and post it here so we can analyze what was missing.
You seem to have removed your virus scanner (?) manually.
Scan your complete registry for scan.msi and delete the keys
or reinstall your scanner. Definitely not an AveDesk problem.
Windows keeps a record of installed files and launches the setup
of an application whose files are seemingly overwritten. Since the
installer of AveDesk 1.0 does not employ the windows installer,
another dependency must have been broken.
1) i've set my laptop to "lock computer" after a few minutes of idleness so that my nosy siblings are unable to poke through my files or mess up my beautiful customization ... everytime i unlock my laptop after awhile, let's say after i wake up in the morning, avedesk performs an illegal operation and must be shut down.
2) if i shift+click a notes widget onto the speak widget, i can hear it fine ... if i drag a text file from explorer onto the speak widget, i get nothing.
in the meantime ... avedesk 1.1 is too good to be overly bothered by having to restart avedesk when i unlock my computer ![]()
Single-click doesn't work on my home computer, but it works just fine at work. Tried closing, reopening, rebooting... nothing worked. Oh, this isn't a big deal. This is a great program!
I seem to have come across 2 errors on my computer
1) With the Recycle Bin widget when increasing/descraesing the size of the icon; if the icon size is too large, it will crash the program ![]()
2) Not sure if this is me but the text in the Sticky's text is quite small (and i'm comparing it to the screeshots in the AveDesk 1.1 article)

I was having the same problem as choo-chee, and after using Dependency Checker I came to find that I'm missing MPR.DLL and MSJAVA.DLL, which makes sense since I'm using Sun's virtual machine, rather than the default provided my MS.
It's more of an annoyance than a bug, but when I move files to or empty my Recycle Bin (using the Recycle Bin desklet of course), the dialog box that prompts me to confirm the action reads "Are you sure .... recyclebin?". Could the correct term "Recycle Bin" be used instead?
I tried to change it myself by opening up the Recyclebin.dll file with Resource Hacker, but I can't seem to find the term. >.<
Ave: fixed
Single clicks also do not work for me, even though that option is selected.
A bigger problem, however, is that my icons keep disappearing. When I mouse over them, they are just gone. The labels are still there, but the icons aren't. This happen to anyone else?

Have you set the drag response to 200ms? that makes the option work.
I use the drive desklet to point to my USB thumbdrive, and have it set to disappear when the drive isn't mounted. Whenever I unplug my thumbdrive, the desklet stays on the screen. If T start AveDesk with the thumbdrive unplugged, the desklet goes away- but it doesn't come back when I plug in the thumbdrive.
I have the same problem with my ipod!
not sure if u can call this a bug or not, but in the old version i was able to have an icon link to the 'my computer' folder, but have it show the drive space for my c:\ drive.
in the new 1.1, i have to choose either have it point to my c:\ drive and display the drive size correctly or point to the 'my computer' folder and show the size of that folder..
anyone know a way around this?

Thanks, that fixed the single click problem. But these disappearing icons are really starting to bug me. Whenever I mouse over them and then to another icon, they're just gone.
All Sysstats related desklets (analog clock, IMAPI mail) refuzing to load. I get the error message "C:\Program Files\AveDesk\Desklets\SysStats\Docklets\SysStats\SysStats.dll is missing"
But the dll is there and I set these widgets it appear, till a new start of AveDesk
Is someting wrong with the verry long pathway (this is the pathway that I downloaded the SysStats related desklets).
Thanks in advance
There no tray icon when Ave starts from Startup folder (after reboot)... But if i start it manually - iconis in tray...
PS
I change icon in AveDesk.exe because of original looks ugly in XP...
First respect for your program, its very cool.
I dont know if its already reported, but i have a bug on 2 different pcs (winxp + win2k). When i set Transparency for a (weather) docklet and save the settings + restart Ave the transparency is at 255 again.
I looked in the config-ini, it saves the values, but it doesnt seem to set them again on start. I have no other Icons/dock/desklets so i dont know if its only a bug of your dockletsupport.

Yup, the directory structure is wrong. You see, Sysstats was originally made for OD so it points to the docklets folder. Put it like this: /desklets/sysstats (not \Desklets\SysStats\Docklets\SysStats\) and the SysStatsCOM.dll to the root folder of Avedesk.
Can you send me your config file please (strip all passwords first). Thanks, that fixed the single click problem. But these disappearing icons are really starting to bug me. Whenever I mouse over them and then to another icon, they're just gone.

I like to quote herd on this one:

No, seriously, it's hard to check with only one monitor here >.< . Maybe you can provide some details about the second monitor: how are the axis installed, resolution, colordepth etc...

I have dual mon... everythings work fine. But i don't use nView. Native WinXP support is good IMO :naughty:
My config: Toshiba Satellite (P4 2.2, 512Mb, GeForce4 Go 460 32Mb) and secondary ViewSonic 15" TFT... and of course Detonator v36.39!
