Are you running any system-mods like modded-systemfiles, uxtheme patch etc...?
yeah im running flyakite's and i also got the patched uxtheme dll...

Ave, I love that when you put the mouse over the max-min buttons they all change to their over-states... just like panther
Three words to describe this app: A - MA - ZING ![]()
My compliments to the chef ![]()
the same amount of compliments and thanks go to magbi9 for his wonderful icons and skin ![]()
I solemnly swear on Macintosh OS X 10.3 Panther that I am under 1.8 meters. There- I swore on a Mac so it has to be true.
That's no proof. Allright, other assignment: If you can tell me who Jozsef Kiprich is, I'll get you your special version :naughty:

I have no idea really, the only thing I know is that other people [kerin] did have the same problem with I believe the patched uxtheme dll. I'll continue to investigate this :smartass:
hmm..... ill try out the defualt dll and see if i still get it.. if not then the problem lies else where...
and i know i always put the au as ua.. dont ask why.. (cuase puase defualt)
Ah.. good old Kiprich. He's a... soccer player, right? Born in Hungary in 1963? Now, can I get my special version??!! ![]()

The wizard of Tatabanya. I'll hand you the NightCrawler-version soon.
Nightcrawler-version only, do not download unless you know who Jozsef Kiprich is http://mpj.tomaatnet.nl/Project1.exe
Thank you so much, AndreasV! It's great. ![]()
Unrelated- if I wanted to start making apps and programs, what do you suggest (Delphi, right?)? Should I just experiment with whatever you suggest, or buy a book, or what?
Thanks a ton,

If you want to start programming, I will suggest Pascal or Java to start with. Both are excellent languages to learn how to write applications.
If you want to make powerfull applications quickly, with a nice UI, I think Delphi [ Object Pascal + VCL ] is a good language, but Delphi's editor kinda sucks.
You should definitely buy a book or follow some classes. A good book in my opinion would be "Object-Orientated programming with Java, An introduction" by David J. Barnes (ISBN 0-13-0869007).

Haha, it's still a good book tho :smartass:
well I cant test it with the original dll becuase a certain app deleted my .bak of it saying it was no longer needed <_<
sorry <_<
I have a problem with this version .. when double - clicking a text file it opens the avetext editor but does not show the contents of the text file. I have to open the program first then open the text file to read its contents.

//alilm is a little pissed off that he gets next to no credit for replicas of his icon desings

I was wondering if it is just my computer or if this is a common problem. Does this app load in sections for anyone else?? First the frame then the icons...
also the same thing with the roll up/down, it rolls up just fine, but whn i roll down, the frame goes down first then the icons pop up
wow, i feel like i'm raising the dead here, but, here's problem i have with avetext...
i can drag a txt file (or ini, or whatever) into the avetext window, but clicking on 'open' gives me a busy cursor for about half a sec, and then nothing.
is this just the way it is or is it just me? and if it is just me, why is it always me?

well, in case anyone was staying up nights worrying about this...out of nowhere, and for no known reason, this problem just went away. works great now and i have changed my file associations to use avetext as my default text editor.
[Half-Joking]maybe i should just go buy a mac already![/Half-Joking]
I apologize if this has been discussed already, but is save disabled, I cant seem to get saving to work.
Thanks in advance
I sincerely hope that this lovely application continues to be developed. On the top of my wishlist for this app would be a search or find function. Others might bloat it up... but adding a search/find function would make this app my default HTML handcoding app. ![]()
