Okay, so I am totally new to Phoenix. I downloaded it, and I have to admit, I was sceptic at first, but I like it actually better then IE or Netscape 7.

My question is, even though I read some of the help files, I would like some help figuring out how to skin it and make it look more like Safari.

I downloaded the Safari skin, but none of my toolbars look anything like it. Can anyone tell me how to do that. Is it an extension, or do I have to manually confige it.

I'm sorry for asking this, I'm sure someone already talked about this somewhere, but I have not been able to find it.

That's a great idea! I think i'll do that too. I thought of using a transparent icon also.

jolhof - i'm assuming you installed it and selected it as well. Go to View > Toolbars > Customize - and drag and drop the icons you want onto the toolbar.

Which version do you have - skinned or "un"

Uh, skinned, I think, . . . . . . . . yeah, that's what I downloaded.

Sorry, I wasn't sure what I had, but I checked and yes it is the skinned version.

So can one add new icons to the customization menu, or do you need to download a new toolbar, or how does that work?

You should have 12 icons to choose from.

i modded the throbber from your original, but i am having problems getting it to size right. the file size is right and it displays properly everywhere except on the "file, edit, etc" menu. is there a setting i need to change in order to get this to work right? thanks

The toolbar is forced to stay a certain height - not allowed to grow. You need a smaller throbber - the one I used is too big too - so it becomes squished.

i think you might be able to do it in ResHacker. bust up the phoenix EXE and check in the strings section... that might work. it's my .02...

They are lynchknot and a wonderful technique!!! :lol:

However, I cannot change a fish icon into a Safari icon like you.

The fish icon was found in Compact.jar.

If a fish icon is changed into a Safari icon and rebooted, Phoenix will not work.

Probably I am wrong.... I want someone to help me.

The prepared Safari icon was renamed as follows.

(sharc-2-8.50.png sharc~2~-8-58x19.png)

compact.css has not changed.

Just swapping out icons should not .......er...will not have any effect. Something else is wrong.

No reason to be shameful. What is FL?

I am not understanding your message.

Make sure you Close Phoenix >

Change icons by making sure they are the right extension and size > rename to same as what is in the jar > delete or overwrite what is in the jar - I just drag and drop into the jar > restart Phoenix
