Phoenix - Safari Update - Aqua-Soft Forums

The Safari PL theme uses the VS backround, so if you running aqua, you get the white and bar background.

Download this file: RIGHT CLICK SAVE AShttp://lynchk.netfirms.com/screenshots/userChrome.css

and place it in %AppData%\Phoenix\Profiles\(profile name)\(#s).slt\chrome (where your theme jars are)

Delete or rename "en-us.jar" in C/program files/phoenix/chrome

drag and drop new en-us.jar into same place.

Make sure Phoenix is not running while performing this.

hmm.. very weird, after i replaced those files, when i start phoenix, i get a small window saying

and i cant use phoenix, it just goes to that window.

Thanks for the site. I was wondering if you can allow a default program to skin the toolbars, as in your skin doesnt skin them so that windows blinds or msstyles can skin it.

Can you do that? I would love to use wb scrollbars on this baby.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you use the unskinned version, it will let your OS theme skin the scrollbars and everything else.

I have not been able to make the direction buttons touch. I'll keep trying.

That fix is to remove menu text off the toolbar and change Bookmarks to Favs.

I'll change to tabs close button - we'll see how it looks

edit* - these are the only red buttons I see in the files - none of them are labled close - which one do you want - they would have to be re-sized. My buttons are also in the SS

wow, great skin. i'm using it now. unfortunately, i'm still having the Iceman's VS + Phoenix fat scrollbar problem... hopefully there's some way around it... ?

Go to the customizing windows section, iceman released the newest version of his theme today, and the fat scrollbars are now a thing of the past.

hmm.. how about a normal X button from normal windows if that is possible, or a "shade" button (the rectangular oval button on the right side) ?

And hey, if you would like any resources, i can probably send them to you for improving the skin.

P.S Is there a way to remove the borders for deviding the menu bar, the button bar, and the links bar?

Would it be possible to remove the border between the menu bar and the main toolbar, leaving only the border between the main toolbar and the personal bookmarks bar? It would also be good to remove the left and right borders around the toolbars. If you look at the screenshots at http://www.apple.com/safari/ , you can see the real thing only has a border between the main buttons toolbar and the personal bookmarks bar.

The new close tab button looks good and works well - I edited my version here with it to try.

I also converted the buttons to the graphite colour style for my own use here. If you want me to send them to you, I'd be happy to. In case you want to do it yourself, all I did was get all of the blue buttons into photoshop and did Image->Adjustments->Hue/Saturation with -80 saturation.

EDIT: I also notice that the safari plain (no skin) version still has the gap between the forward and back arrows. Would you be able to fix this too? cheers and thanks!

Yes, I can do that but

you can see the real thing only has a border between the main buttons toolbar and the personal bookmarks bar.

That's because Safari does not have a text menu bar. It might be better to put everything on the top bar and then have no division with the bookmark toolbar. I'll post an example in a few.

I don't like the new close buttons that I posted.

I was thinking of doing another color version. Let's see a SS or yours.

I don't think it's possible to remove the gap. I have tried. I can move the icons on top of each other and there's still a gap. I have found no way around this.

Screenshot of only 2 toolbars. This way, you can leave the toobar dividers in. This is possible with the Text menu mod that I posted earlier. There is still plenty of room for the URL bar. The browser is even in "restore down" mode.

If you mean all the icons, the icons are original from Safari - converted to png.

If you mean the frame around the URL button, i've been exploring the possibility of changing the background color to refer to the image url instead (brushed)

sky - which version of theme? If you are using Iceman's VS - you did not unzip it properly. Show me a SS. Iceman's VS, if not unzipped properly, will affect both Safari versions.

Lynchknot, I am astonished how quickly you produced this new skin! While browsing around I found the Jaguar-style you made for Phoenix (with Iceman's icons). WELL DONE! I like that skin even more than the Safari one.

I have a question for you: the font in the menu bar and everywhere else on my Phoenix menus is Times New Roman (which I do not particularly like). On all of your SS I saw that the font was the Mac-font (or something similar). Can you please tell me how to change it?

I have just tried te newer version. I am not sure, but did you put the no border ones on your webpage yet? Also, if you would like, i can give you the real scrollbar pictures since on mines, windows blinds doesnt skin them for some reason.
