I love any widgets that configure themselves! Great work. I hope everyone follows suit. The configuring aspect of Samurize has turned me off the program until now.

I am running all three "widgets". and they all start fine, BUT I am constantly asked to retype

1) the media player number I am using.... (2) for iTunes.

2) The city, country name then the Weather.com code,

This happens whenever I try to touch the widget with my cursor. Not sure how to remedy this. Something is obviously not registering in the program when i typed the information in originally.

And I assume that the mediawidget will not work unless iTunes is actully running. Just to make sure that this the design, not a bug on my pc.

But the good far out weigh the bad, they look amazing. I wish Samurize would only run one instance of itself instead of running three different ones, eating up my resources. ;)

don't touch the weather icon and winamp icon on those widgets. those icons are linked to configuration scripts, that's what the author want them to be. u can click somewhere else to drag th widgets around

Is this link dead for anyone else? Mirror? This looks so awesome I need to get my hands on it.

Bug in Weather Widget. I use WiFi on this computer and I swtiched APs (so the system lost internet connection for a short while) Client.exe CPU usage shot up to the 90s range. System slowed down to a crawl. Had to wait for task mananger to open up and kill the process.

@Alderaic

Thanks for the info, but the script isn't of the start/stop variety, rather the widget is a 'soft-reload' i.e. it's refreshed by the sendkeys command. Check the refresh.vbs.

Just to address a few issues for the re-release (Milk Suite 0.2):

Crashes

OK, I've been working on a way to get rid of these annoying crashes and after talking to NeM (one of the creators) I've completely redone this suite and I'm going to test it for the rest of today and see how it goes, so far it hasn't crashed once.

Skins

I'm tweaking the graphics and adding another option to the configuration that allows you to choose from a selection of predefined skins, so far, i've done Milk, Good Grey and a... shall we say... 'Black' theme.

if anyone is interested in including a skin with the re-release, if they could mail me a working preview psd I'd appreciate it.

tadis:WEB

My new site is down, after a grand total of 4 days online (my host emailed me to say I exceeded the 650MB in any 24 hour bandwidth rule, b@5t@rd5!!!), would anyone be kind enough to provide some hosting for the re-release?

OK, I think that's it... basically this has been a learning experience and I'd like to thanks everyone for being so patient, what starts off as perfect anyway? :moon:

expect a revamped, fully functional re-release in the next few days.

Tadis ;)

You've got a PM ;)

If anyone cares, I replaced the graphics of the Weather 2 config to use the Konfabulator ones. I couldn't do Weather 3 since I don't have the skin for the 6 day forcast.

@Kurt

I'm not sure if we should be doing that (for release anyway) we don't want added heat for Aqua-soft from the Konfabulator team do we?

Crni mailed me a response to his request for permission to use the konfabulator pngs:

Hi Crni,

We don't allow people to use our images for anything but their personal

use, sorry.

You might want to have a look at the EULA that you must agree to when

you first mount the Konfabulator disk image so you have a better

understanding.

Cheers,

Arlo Rose

Anybody have the original release, please PM me and I'll mirror it until Tadis gets the final release out and I'll mirror that one too.

I was talking of the weather refresh , the script called restart weather, this one is using the old kill method.

No, I know that those functions are included in the konweatherxml.vbs file but that was only for backwards compatibility, ALL refresh actions are handled through the Refresh.vbs (with relevant arguments). Take a look through config editor.

This is also implemented in the media widget where all the refresh actions are handled by refresh.vbs and all the media related actions are handled through winamp.vbs.

#121111

if you dont have a host, i'll host the file for you. let me know.

#121115

Darn, I didn't get to the suite in time... please kindly host it.

This is one tough Samurizer... even though I don't know what it looks like... to me

Tadis is the the current man to beat!

Inspiration on!! Be so inspired! :D

Check your firewall settings for permissions. Also check your anti virus. When I unzipped the files my a/v app said the weather vb script was a virus. There must be a malitious script with the same name or something. I told DrWeb to ignore it and it works fine. Lastly try reinstalling samurize 1.25 again. And be sure to place all the files\folders in the correct Samurize folders.

I got the same message from norton, but I've authorized it.. I can't even visit xoap.weather.com . It worked with another samurize weather script before.. :(

Here's how it looks with JyriK's icons. They are already named correctly also.

Finally got myself a copy. This was much more better than any widget I've seen.

I like the milk theme pretty much... and I have nothing to complain about the pretty graphics.

I just noticed that the weather widget kept asking for my location. I don't know whether it recorded all my clicks (script setting) even though I rebooted. Will report on this when I experience more 'inappropriate' behaviors.

Just wondering if it's possible to script the suite in a way that it automatically merges with the existing (current) script. Thinking if it's possible to script the 'exiting' of Samurize, then merging a new script (checking first if the new script exist), then running Samurize again (with the loaded new script). For what reason you ask? Obviously it will ultimately load just one client.exe instance that will save you more memory. Well, it's just an idea... please enlighten me.

Thanks again. ;)

Nu ni nu ni nu.... I... Inspiration! :D

Edit: Dang... should've read the posts more carefully... there's no problem whatsoever for me... glad to have updated to Windows Script 5.6. :P

#121419

I was wondering where to post this but anyways, hope this gets noticed.

For all you weather fans using Linux... visit Karamba.

Windows: Samurize

Mac: Konfabulator

Linux: Karamba?

Symbian: ???

Palm: ???

This is getting so inspiring. Be inspired! D

For those wanting my Konfab weather mod: I don't think it would be appropriate to release it as the graphics belong to Karlo Rose and are his to distribute. However, if you are able to find old versions of weather widgets (available on these forums, perhaps) you could use the skin files to modify it for yourself. If Tadis gets approval, I'd be happy to give it to him for integration into the next release of his widgets. I assume he must have gotten some permissions already, as he included the Konfabulator weather icons. Please don't PM me with under-the-table transfers, as I will just copy and paste what I have written here as a response. I'm glad you all like it, though :D
