Hi,
somewhere in these threads about StefanKa`s files, someone found a "bug" about the sharing icon.
I think this icon is in shell32.dll->icongroup->29 . To solve this problem, i modded the icon from SefanKa`s file, so that there is only the "+" sign left. I made some .ico files in different colours, but i haven`t choosen yet which version i should take (i also will change some of the SnowE2 icons in the shell32.dll into SnowE2 Aqua icons).
I also modified the icons for the connected/ disconnected netdrive: icon 10/11 because in StefanKa`s file are the standard win files.
But i don`t know if i could publicate this files, or if there are any copyrights from RAD.E8 DESIGN on this files

I ask this, because on my system are the latest securuty updates, and when i just change my files with yours, i think some updates "get lost". So i thought about patching the dialogs manualy in my files; and the icons, bitmaps and avi`s with batchmod.
i will post later( iff i have more time) a list.
WOW!! what a great job. My desktop now looks B U T FUL!!!!
The whole process of replacement was painless, however, the only thing that hasn't been replaced is the dial up/network conncetions icons.

You can replace it self in rasdlg.dll 
For anyone concerned about not being able to install security patches after installing Stefankas files, I reckon I have a solution using batchmod - it should let you stay up to date with ms patches and keep the great look and feel that Stefanka has given us.
I have made a couple of posts on that page - they should clear it up.

it has already been quoted, i think, could you upload these files somewhere ? i wan't it before i publish French files

Sorry i have no Wepspace, where i could upload the files. But after testing the look of the "+" signs as the sharing icon, i decided not to take them (so i haven`t worked any more on them). I think i will take the icon from the "FauxS-XP Emerald" theme.
But i can send you a package with the icon`s i will change.
Anyway im not realy good in editing graphics, so dont expect to much (i also don´t have many time at the moment, cause i have to learn for some exam`s at university).

Your way is the way i would take when i make an fresh install of WinXP, but at the moment i haven`t planded to do that. And when i aply StefanKa`s file at the moment (all iupdates installed), i think i have no way to apply the ms-patches again, because the installer will see in regestry etc. that they are already installed.
But if there are to many files to patch, i may change my mind, and make a new winxp install. Because making the reshacker script files will take then maybe more time.
Executer: I think Windows Update is cleverer than that. Before I installed the Stefanka files, I was up to date and afterwards WU thought I had needed the latest IE security patch. So I think it must compare file versions.

I just installed StefanKa Systemfiles, and then installed again ms-updates.
And it seems, that these updates will not only change icon, avi, bitmaps. It also changes
dialogs. i have till now not tested in which files dialogs are updated, but in shell32.dll they are 100% updated. if its only in this file, it will be no big problem to patch stefanka dialogs manualy.
but i would be nice to get a list of all dialog changes from stefanka, so that i don`t have to check all 97 files if there are dialogs that may be changend by ms-updates again.

Is there any way., to exctract the dialogs from for example shell32.dll into a .rc file, and than patch these dialogs into another shell32.dll (perhaps with an script), or must i change every dialog manualy in reshacker?
i tried without succes to modify the extract command of bacthmode to extract dialogs, but it didn't, , so you have to ask the author of bacthmode, or anybody who knows how to use reshack with commandlines
could someone please tell me how can i replace comctl32.dll? i replaced on the first destination but on the second it says the file is being used and cant be replaced <_

Try replacing it in safe mode.
I have a problem with the taskbar, the only "nice" 
icon i see in the tray is the network connection. Is that a non replaced file problem? If yes, which one. If no, has any one, especially the M*A*N Stefanka, idea what is wrong?

I must say that I have just installed your beautiful Snow sysfiles, and I am thoroughly impressed my friend with the results!
I had Chris's (flyakite) great Installer ver: 4.0 Panther sysfiles, and like viewing another quality VS, the desire to change was there...
I did not have a single glitch with your sysfiles, when installing them in 'Safe Mode', and what this tells me is how fortunate that our Community is to have two very knowledgable modders, who take great pride in their respective works!
The elegance of this 'masterpiece' is stunning!!!

hey StefanKa........ i found this problem here..... i seem to unable to open the "properties" on my Local Area Network which is my network adapter........ which system file that you think that cause the problem? thx.....

the same here | i found that if you right click and select disable, `then the properties would appear.
Dont know why this is happening.
