there's still shadows, they are just more subtle now. OS X pre jaguar did have shadows, but post jag doesnt afaik. I learned that first from aristotle, then I talked to a friend who has a mac and he confirmed it:)
I also made a special sosumi and sosumi graphite build for a person here (I wont name them so they dont get hounded for it) But I cant release them untill I get permission from the sosumi author. So does anyone know who I should contact about that? (I dont get along with the OS X sosumi author, would asking the windows porter suffice? 
)
Oh, and I take it the new font is working for the majority of you? Is anyone having problems yet, other then my one tester?

Dude, Im sorry to be so critical. Youve worked so hard one this and have done a great job. But after comparing your bar side by side with the real on, I couldnt help but notice the text. It is still off. Try using McPinty's text that he used for his bar. I am telling you it is right on. Look at his comparison shot. The text is almost exact!

well I think you are being too critical, cause neither font is 100% exact to the real OS X Lucida Grande. I dont even know if it's possible to make a exact windows version because the font was made solely for OS X. With that said, my font stays as it is, it's the closest to the real thing for me, if you dont like it, change the font in my theme (I've given instructions in a thread below) or use his theme. It really doesnt matter. I cant stand people who are so obsessed with OS X that they wont stand for anything thats not perfect (no offense). Nothing in this world is perfect, and I dont even like the menubar, in fact I hate the mac menubar (it's very impractical to have a stationary menu). I just theme for the fun and the challenge, and because aqua is "pretty"

Thats weird. Your making a mac menubar, yet you hate it. Also, I was just suggesting you change it because as you can see, it is a hell of a lot closer than what you have. No, its not perfect, and I agree, I doubt we will ever get a perfect font, but the one he used is wwaayy closer than yours. I dont know about you but I think it looks damn better than your font, no offense. I'm not telling you to change it, it was simply a suggestion to make your bar look better, thats all. If you dont want to change it then you dont have to. By the way I hate F ***in skinstudio. It sucks! It is the worst program I have seen that was written by a large company. Where's the logic? Anyways, thats fine, keep it the way it is. I dont dare try to change the font using skinstudio. Its too messed up for my brain to handle.

If you read the thread down below I explain how to change fonts without skinstudio. And no I dont see THAT much of a difference between his, and my fonts, their both Lucida Grande!!! so there cant be a huge difference as you suggest.
*edit* ok I looked in his theme, and it appears he just uses Lucida Sans Unicode, which is included with windows, and isnt as close (in all of the character shapes) as the one I included. My font was ported from OS X so, oh well, just change the font's yourself if you dont like them

if you want ill post you a screen shot of my MAC and you'll see there are shadows stucked undernethe the menuBar ever since the freaking osx came out.
I dont get aristotle and your friend who has a broken mac claiming there isnt any sharow undernethe. I can give you a confirmation from steve jobs if thats going to "convince" you.
why not enable that option dude?
do me a favor and enable that option just for me if you really wanna stick to a false looking one for anyone else.

this thing kinda gets ridiculous, since its exactly like claiming there isnt any apple logo in the menu bar and aristotle and a friend with a mac confirmed that for ya. please.
You got my/jobs/posted picture confirmation that there are shadows undernethe the menu bar which are embedded like gods in all versions of the OS X jaguar, post realease and release and future release and after future release.. please give me a break and make one JUST for me. ok?

I had no idea what shadows you were talking about. I was talking about shadows under the text, not the actual bar.
To enable winfx to add shadows to the main bar, you just have to right click on the bar, choose properties select "Finder" from the side listbox, Pick the advanced tab, and uncheck the option "Block windows fx from applying shadows to this bar"
Not so difficult now is it?
If people here insist on flamming authors because of an option they choose not to include, I wont be surprised if this community falls apart. We are doing it for you guys afterall, no need to get huffy or rude. Especially on Christmas. And as I stated, I am doing this completely for you guys, because I HATE the OS X Menubar, I just like the challenge of skinning and recreating it. It may look nice, but it's functionality sucks. Oh and I'm doing it so I can get use to it for when I do buy a mac, although I hope Apple adds the option to have in-window menubars by then.
And I'm sorry if I misunderstood your tone Goku, but it seems you were angry with me over something so silly as a shadow I am having a hard time deciphering people's moods in this forum.

There's only 3 that i know about. The one I'm using now, one that doesnt anti-alias, and one that does, but looks squarish. It would be great if someone did a pixel to pixel port of the font, then we wouldnt have to search and try workaround fonts

Also I was a lil p'd off with Jmitch cause he keeps telling EVERYONE that their stuff isnt perfect, or equal to the real aqua, meanwhile from what I can gather he's just going by screenshots and doesnt own a mac? oi. Nothing is perfect But authors dont need to be slammed with every release they make
Anyways I hope theres no hard feelings. I was just being defensive I guess (something I've had to get use to with various other forums lately).
