New Jaguar Object Bar Theme

Hi guys,

Well since Iceman has given me permission to release this theme (see other thread, near perfection) and some people wanted it, I am releasing it

Remember this is Icemans work, I have just modified some bmp's and settings and changed the fonts.

Included are Aqua, and Graphite colour schemes.

I think this is one of the most "true to original" bars out there, because of it's appearance and functionality

*UPDATE* Jaguar Fur version complete, and added!

They all now include volume and eject functions.

Also a few minor bugs were fixed.

The rar also includes my OS X windows XP cursor set.

(Yeah...I know there are many other brushed bars...just wanted to know if you would..)

after the latest escapades involving cuzzo, not likely

but, mage can use the same fonts as me and get the same looking theme basically. And he could also use the selected bmp and settings to get the flashing selection.

Plus I feel brushed is ugly, of course thats just my opinion

and Virk: sosumi graphite?

Great bar! Really nice! Thanks for the good work. However, the "Restart"-function doesn't work in my start menu.

Is it only me? Or does anybody else face the same prob?

It will be fixed in a few minutes.

I'm busy working on jaguar fur now

btw I changed alot of links to point to C:\ as your root drive, so if c:\ isnt your root, some items wont work untill you have edited their behavior.

This is great, Ive already modded it a bit using some of the systemtray icons from MageGuru's theme he released yesterday. So now I have the volume and eject buttons aswell.

Also, It didnt have a windows systemtray with a visible expander at first so i made one also

All in all, it looks great

I will be adding volume and eject icons and functions, any others I'm missing?

I also fixed the systray expand item.

Jaguar fur style will be out a bit later for those who want it, I am just going to add a few of the functions mentioned above to the 3 styles.

I'm trying to add a new item to activate the Windows Start Menu. I assume this is a system command. However, when I add this system command, the Start Menu only appears for a split second before it disappears on it's own. Here is a screencap. Any ideas?

Well, don't quote me on this, but I know in Objectbar menus theres a way to make them volitile/nonvolitile- so that when you move your mouse the menu stays open, there might be a way to do this with system commands, i dont know how but if I were you id be thinking along those lines

you didnt install the fonts I included did you? as for your question, just make that function non volatile as the person above said. Should work.

That option is available for shortcuts, but not system commands :-(

ok Jaguar Fur version is almost complete. the blue and graphite versions are finished. All I have left to do on the fur version is to make the flash bmp's which shouldnt take too long

oh and to the person above: if you want the windows start menu, why make a button for it? why not just press the winkey on your keyboard? but, if you wish I can add a function like the volume and such, that would be a win flag and when pressed can activate the start menu.

hmm your right, it just closes, well the best I can suggest is to just use the winkey, it will open from the bottom, but it's better than nothing

Hey Binary, I have a request for this next release. Could you make a volume systray icon?? That would be really great. And, one more thing. How can I make the font of the menu items less bold? How do change the font. I searched through all of the properties menus; couldn't find anything. Thanks.

EDIT:

Matter of fact, how do I change all of the fonts. I would like to play around with them a little. They look pretty good now, but I think some boldness here and there, and some less bold would really benefit the theme. Thanks.

systray volume and eject added to every style. I just finished the Jaguar Fur version. I'll update my first post. The rar now includes my OS X windows Cursors too.

this is exactly why I wont do a brushed version. I shouldnt have to credit everyone who has done this. If anything I would credit iceman and iceman only because the bar is based upon his foundation. Graphics of brushed metal can be found by the handful, I will not credit people who have had no part in the theme process. If I had to do this my readme file would be filled with at least 100 lines of people who have made OS X like menubars before me.

Anyways, no I'm not making one.

And cuzzo I wasnt being negative, your attitude has turned me off of creating a brushed metal version, honestly, it has.

I have downloaded so many bars(OSX ones)that also have no info on who did (OSX menu functionality).I still dont know who originaly did it,does it matter?

I didnt say you stiffled my creativity, I meant I dont want to put forth the effort only to have you start on me like you did mage and demand credit and call me a thief, like you did him.

I am very respectfull of other authors, which is why I wasnt going to release anything unless Iceman said it was ok, which he did, I added him to the readme, updated his skin info with his new site etc.. I love giving people credit where it's due. But if I made a brushed theme, it wouldnt be based off of your's therefore, I wouldnt give you credit.

As for saying that implementing functions into the bar isnt skinning.... OMFG. I cant even believe you said that. So if I just threw a bunch of graphics into a folder, and called it a windowblinds skin, is it a skin? Nope, you'd need the metric files for it to be complete and to work. Skinning includes everything from the graphics to the functions to the metrics of the skin. Not one or the other, all of the above. So yes, it should matter who you based your bar off of for funtions, and you should credit them.

Now please dont respond anymore, because your just going to derail my thread, and I'll have to make a new one
