OK, ive made an Aqua-ish skin 4 the new version of messenger 6.
first u need to download the original, then apply the patch over the top of a clean install. simple
MSN 6.1.0155 Patch [uPDATED 10/10/03]
i havent botherd skinning some parts, but if theres enough interest ill do those ive missed.
oh one last thing, u need to delete the MSN directory here --> Application Data\Microsoft

:woot: Finally, I've been waiting for a long time for a aqua skin for MSN 6.1 beta for a long time! Pretty nice skin! It would be good if there's a new aninmation for sign in!!! Please improve and inform all of us!
Few points to note also:
1: The icons on the contact list are not blending well with the background, they appear to be unclear...
2: The icons are not that well scaled down, they seem a little distorted.
3: If I remembered correctly, the green mans should be those online...
4: The chat windows are very well done except for a bit of distortion at the curves. (the one after the launch site button)
5: Put a nice background in please......
Well, I hope a second build will come up soon! but it's a nice one all in all (if I weren't that fussy 
)
hey unknow i must say you did a terriffic job... i on the other hand do agree on what Sinthesys said about the fixes... nothing reaaaly importnat tha i cant live withouth tough, but it would be nice to see it fixed...
So far one of the best msn skins ive seen!!

i see how u mean, but the contact list images are bitmaps with magic pink so blending isnt supported so ill see what i can do.
the reason the images r distorted is bcos of my lack of graphic skills, but ill see what i can do with those i have.
the backgrounds r fixed if u remove the MSN Messenger folder here --> Application Data\Microsoft . u then set the default to be the new image.
hopefully a new 1 in the next few days. anymore suggestions/comments are more than welcome.
also, aswell as finding a signin graphic if ppl want to create backgrounds and display pictures along the "aqua" theme i would b happy to include them with your name.

that skin is nice but could you take out the X _ O in the right hand corner and replace it with sunken buttons?

If you can't get the original from the mac version, I think the throbber could look good.
(although resizing it to something more reasonable could be useful)

It's even better than I expected...
The only thing I would suggest is fixing the group icon in the "Send an Instant Message" window...
Personally, I like the current send button - the round one looks odd 
Also, when using WinFX, does anyone know how I can get WinFX to only shadow the "cut down" chat window? It leaves its shadows where the full size window would normally be...

i can't find it after I patch my msn...

the skin looks really great.... :rule: the chat window...........but I like the main window of msn aquaX, because of the status icons, can you change this little thing? pleeease?
another thing is that this version can't shrink the chat windows the size you want, in the older version you were able to do that, hidding a few buttons in the way.......

maybe its not the same beta version, maybe the msn is open, maybe youre running hte patch in another folder... not sure tough waht the problem is...

wow! nice skin thx...i still like some parts of msn aquax..like the status icon too and rounded "send" button exactly like a Mac. Can anyone with a mac provide screenshot of msn, to help make this skin look like it?

does anyone have a copy of Aqua X for MSN 6, the link on jabinc's page is dead. ill go and ask permission from the author to use a few of the graphics assuming i can get a copy.
to get to the game hexic you need to click MSN games on the launch menu, ive patch this with the custom games over HERE
as for the send button mayb ill make two versions because i really dont like the round mac one.
i also have a mac, so screenshots rnt my problem, the issue is i cant extract the original MSN resources. so ill keep working on it.
