[release] Iex V0.2

THIS POST IS EDITED, READ CARREFULLY !

Okay, after many problems experienced by users, I uploaded a new version of 0.2, sort of 0.2a

0.2a on 07/26/2003
- MFC now statically linked
- iEx is now unicode !

0.2 on 07/24/2003:
- new iEx.ini file
- customizable screen corner activation
- Y'z Shadow bug fixed
- Fully customizable text and rectangle layout
- "Window off screen" bug fixed

07/24/2003:
- screen corner activation
- F10 key

07/22/2003:
- cleaned the code (again)
- improved display speed (now uses GDI+ to resize bitmaps in memory and only redraw desktop when needed)
- magnification now keeps original window aspect ratio

07/19/2003:
- display minimized windows as well
- MUCH LESSER memory usage which causes a speed gain
- Added the F11 key.
- cleaned the code
- fixed the "no window crash" bug
- now re-hitting F9 will re-show all the windows
- instantly reshow windows when exit if in expose mode

So you maybe saw MFC is now statically linked, so don't need to have MFC70.DLL anymore. Also, the app was converted to UNICODE.

So grab the new version here: iEx_v0.2_static_unicode.rar (118 kb)

And IF YOU EXEPERIENCE A PROBLEM WITH MSVCR70.DLL, ONLY IF YOU EXEPERIENCE PROBLEM. I REPEAT ONLY IF YOU EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS, use this one: msvcr70.dll (336 kb)

EXCELLENT. :woot:

And to think I was just PMing you about this...

EDIT:

I get an error that says MFC70.DLL was not found... How do I fix this?

#42692

yeah same deal here

#42694

For MFC70.DLL, takes the one that comes with MobyDock 0.77 for example or download here :)

#42695

AWESOME

#42697

Sorry for being stupid, but what part of the INI file do we need to edit.

#42700

i recently got Iex V0.2 as well as mfc70.dll [put in c:\windows\system]. when i start up Iex i get an error...

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application"

any suggestions??

#42701

same here

#42702

Test with the new link on the first post.

Put the file in Windows\System32 and again ONLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE !

For the .ini file, here is a hint: look at the last line :)

this program is awesome!!!!! :D

but one lil thing, not so important but will make it a lot better:

make the F11 key to act the same way as Win+D does.

afaik there is a function that "presses keys" so just use it to press Win+D when F11 is pressed. in the current way when i press F11 i must press it again to be able to go back to the windows >.<

#42704

msvcr70.dll not found?????

What do you mean ? when you press, enable, and release, disable ?

#42707

Super cool!

But could siwu add Unicode support in it?

Currently all Chinese characters appear as unrecognizable characters.

One request for the next release, could you add a feature that allows you to make IEx ignore certain programs? The reason I ask this is because I am using YzDock and when I use Iex it screws up the dock each time I hide or 'tile' the windows.

Thanks.

#42713

Maverick.

you can exclude. just edit the iEx.ini file with notepad. there is a place that is pretty self explanitory.

#42714

Read what siwu says :

IF YOU DO NOT NEED THE DLL, DON'T DOWNLOAD IT :)

I think it already has this feature...

the ini file has

[FILENAME_EXCLUSION]

and add the programs you want it to be ignore...
