the windows version is being developed simultaeneously with the mac version, i'll be posting some more screenshots and should have the alpha versions out soon.
Nuse: RSS/ATOM Reader
look at you alilm, developing for osx now?......sweet!!!!!
app looks great my man, keep it up!
How's the development coming? When do u think the Alpha versions will be released?
Sorry for the lack of updates, i've been very busy with uni. Nuse still is in development tho! Both for windows and mac and i've been implementing loads of new features and generally fixing stuff.
I'll ask for beta testers soon.
that's good to hear, alilm. i can't wait! ![]()
U ready 4 beta testing yet?
I needed a rss reader so I downloaded Feedreader, but Nuse looks a lot better in the preview.
I don't really care nor have time for beta testing.
But I can't wait to try it out and see how it compares to Vienna.
I'll pre-sign-up for the beta test. Will it be easy to replace the toolbar buttons and such?
If he made it a proper Mac OS X application it should be extremely easy to replace them by simply accessing the package contents.
I wouldn't mind testing the Mac OS X beta. Running v10.4.8 (PPC) here.
Beta testing please.
he's probably working on his other unfinished apps. ieL alim finder, watson.. etc
oh my god you guys, calm down.
you don't want him to rush, do you? good things come in good time.
and well, alilm, guess you can see your app is in popular request. congrats! now get back to work.
Honestly I never quite understand why people have the need to announce a project many months in advance without actually releasing something.
It's very easy to prevent these kind of replies from people: Keep the application to yourself until there's actually enough code done to release an initial version, instead of creating a thread over six months prior to that moment.
Doing things that way is far more logical and will save a lot of trouble. In my opinion anyway. Hell, you don't see Apple showing off a new OS version without supplying a Developer Preview either.
He asked for help for someone to make toolbar icons and an icon.
Probably wanted the first public release to have those..

I think those were offered to him plusminus four months ago. Anyway, I'm not here to start a whole debate about this matter.
I never received *any* icons for Nuse and while I understand that not many people have the time to donate freely their services it does mean that I had no user interface, so it wasn't released. I am currently awaiting foood's permission to use his icons, then i'll release it - simple as.
You could use the Tango Icon set. They are free available and can be distributed under Creative Commons License. Just a thought until you can find replacements.
Edit: There's also the Tango Icon set created by Lokheed specifically for the Pan Newsfeed Reader. Which can be distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 License.
Thanks sranshaft
, I used the tango set in my screenshots and while they're great on my ubuntu desk I think they look a bit out of place in aqua ( I also thought they could only be used freely in linux apps). I'll release the newsreader during the coming week,
al
No worries. As far as I know, they are available for use in any freeware application whether they be linux or otherwise. I went to check the specifics but it seems their site is down.
Either way, looking forward to seeing it release. Good luck! ![]()
any icon alilm? ok..
proenca, your application icon is wicked
but I still was at a loss for toolbar icons. Although now it looks like the first release at least will default to the tango icon set.
Still waaaaating. ![]()
The app looks great, and I'd love to beta test it. If you'd like, I could try my hand at an icon for it. (If you want to see my stuff, check out this topic).
EDIT: Okay, I was so anxious I decided to try it anyway. I don't like some of them, but I came up with an idea that I think is cool.

...A globe. This was my basis.
![]()
Don't like it so much.

Alas, my idea!
maybe you should throw this in the graveyard along with alims other unfinished apps
