Nuse: RSS/ATOM Reader

Hey everyone, its been a while since I've been active on these boards but it's good to see the community is strong as ever

Anyway, my latest offering is a very aesthetically pleasing, free newsreader for OSX and (soon) Windows. This application is currently under development but is already looking nice (see attachment for screenshot). The aim of the application is to provide powerful features in a simple interface.

Basically, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with making some toolbar icons and a logo for this app. This application will always be freeware so I can't pay anyone but naturally you'll come second only to me in the About box

(Unfortunetly I can only upload a really crap quality image as my ftp is down, but it gives you the general idea.)

This looks promising. Will have to certainly keep an eye on the development of this. I've been looking for a good RSS feed reader that looks good as well (went with Snarfer as it's fast and looks 'decent' though missing a bunch of key features I would like: desktop ticker, notification of new headlines, new headlines folder, etc.).

I know you mentioned the Windows version will have a Vista look - any examples? I hope we're not talking ribbons and controls that aren't skinned by Windowblinds/UXtheme ala IE7, Office 12.

Sorry I didn't explain the whole vista thing very well. All controls WILL be skinnable by window blinds or by your currenty theme, I just meant the layout/interface will be similar to vista, that is - clean and usuable

This is looking damn sexy and Proecna's icon is...yeah, holy mother! Can't wait to see this in action. Would love to know if it'll include a skinning feature, ie: changing of icons, highlight colors, etc.

Regardless I'm looking forward to get a hold of a copy and putting it through its paces.

One question though: I've been using FeedReader for awhile now. Will this allow importing of feed lists, OMPL's I think they are? Would be great for those of us that have already got a large collection of RSS feeds we want to keep.

Edit: Another quick question. Will we be able to change the position of the panes? For example, in FeedReader I have it set so that the news list and the reading pane are over/under each other and the feed collection pane is the left of this (like a email application).

@sranshaft - Good idea! I've just implemented different view types, screenies to follow soon.

I'm not sure about OMPL compatibility yet, but it will come before the product goes final.

Looking pretty swanky. Like the Front Row-esque new reading. Is there going to be a feature like that in the windows version?

Edit: On doing some random browsing, I stumbled upon this RSS reader available for Vista. What I thought was cool about it was the Front Row like feature you're planning for the OSX version.

Would be great to have something like this added to future versions of of the Windows version of Nuse.
