Post Your Workstation

Figured that I should post a new one, with a couple of updates. Click on the pic for the Flickr goodness.

Like it? Here, have an artsy shot.

I went to IKEA this weekend, and it shows a bit. Not shown: Dokument trash can (like the one in the OS X dock), and Allak chair in white.

What type of desk do you have? I'm looking into buying a new clean-looking desk. My glass desk has this "foggy-glass" look to it and I'm not liking it anymore.

It's a custom made desk, unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on whose perspective).

Wow bro, this looks so clean and peaceful! :)

Btw, what's that black pad your using and is your printer not located on the desk?

Oh, looks awesome man. I need something wooden for when I move this summer, got any good suggestions?

Thanks. It is peaceful, especially when combined with a HybridWorks wallpaper.

The black pad is a linoleum surface, but it isn't flooring grade. I can't for the life of me remember what kind, because it was built into the desk when I got it. My printer is attached to the family iMac (located in the other room) and is shared. Makes for a much simpler, neater setup.

The VIKA system from IKEA is pretty good. I was checking out a few to maybe replace my current desk. Also, I saw this desk when I was in there last, and it looks pretty good.

My Computer is a 3.0 quad core, loaded with 16 GB of RAM. I have 6GB extra if anyone is interested :)

how would only 22k make you bill gates relative? 22 million, maybe.

lol it'd be funny if he was though, considering he's running a mac.

#492864

Not the fact that it's just 22k, but 22k he spent on a personal computer...

#492872

but 22k he spent on a personal computer...

He didn't spend 22k on the computer..it was $3500. Although it's still over the majority of Aqua-soft member's budget, that hardly qualifies as anybody-from-the-fortune-500's relative.

#492898

Yeah, I am not related to Bill in any way shape or form. And if I was, he would hate me because I am dedicated to Apple.

I was able to purchase all the things I have because I have a business doing all kinds of interactive media stuff (Web, Print, Music, Video Design). And in the business I have, I get taxed on the money I make if I don't spend it on business stuff.

#492919

Well shoot, I gotta into that kind of business :D

Another Server, but this one is one of the Low end ones I had lying around. I revived it to turn it into a home DNS server and local game server.

It hides because I don't need to see it to use it. Beauty of SSH and VNC

Yes, you should keep stuffin' bags and rags around the case, that will surely cut-off airflow needed to cool it. Effectively reducing it's lifespan by half. Beauty of Murphy's law
