New Forums & Misc.

This is needed, 3rd Party Applications>Mozilla. All it's products, tutorials, questions, etc should go in there. Or just as we got "Media Players" why not put "Internet Browsers"?

...Think its time to merge some of our forums.

If you're going to do this might I suggest some sort of tagging. Actually, maybe autotagging by quering the backend is possible?

Just a thought.

#408588

Might even be doing away with the tags, if the plugin that we're using doesn't work with the new version. I'm not a big fan of the tag thing so.

Tsk, tsk.

Just when the Linux forum got a little bit of activity, it got merged with the Mac forum.

I guess it is impossible to undo this now?

#409747

Don't look at me, I was horrified from an organizational perspective :P. Funnily enough, my reaction was "Oh no, the Mac forum got merged with the Linux forum!" instead of the other way around.

How about a *nix forum, with sub forums for the different types? (OS X, GNULinux, BSD if anyone actually posted about it). Especially since a good amount of mac software won't work on linux.

Nah, Timan really doesn't like empty forums because they make the community look dead.

Is the new "How-To" tag only for the release of tutorials? How does it differ from help?

Hmm, guess I could be confusing, How-To would be How-To - Patch uxtheme.dll aka a tutorial.

Guess I'll put tutorial instead...

#410064

Yes, i'd changed the How-To tag. I already made the mistake of tagging a Help thread with How-To before realising that it's probably there for tutorial-esque threads.
