@kolouker and zondajag: sorry guys, but it seems that you missed the point. Being here all the time everyday won't make you a good mod. Tell me - what have you contributed to this community so far? Are you well known and respected among other members? Do you consider yourselves as mature and responsible people? Are you ready to bear with not-so-intelligent situations, stupid posts, rude and impatient people and stay calm whenever it happens? These are the questions you should answer when applying for this job.
Well put. And I too understand the pain of being a moderator; it's no longer "fun" to ban people... it's part of the job, and I enjoy helping the community. But let me tell anyone here that's never done any moderating: it's not as fun as you think it will be. Why? You can't let the power go to your head. We had a crazy moderator at a board I worked at; he banned the administrators (this was on a board where a Mod could ban ANYONE.) It took a while to manually unban our accounts, and after that, the loser was permabanned. So, long story short, though you have these new powers and ashiny new badge (or username color, whatever) it doesn't mean that you are god. No, not even you, Unbe

Personally, i find the Moderating done on this board to date is refreshingly different even if it is fiercely strict in many cases. It is definitely a cut out of the ordinary and seems to keep things especially focused, especially posts. It can even be quite funny if you don't feel singled when you get beaned.

as far as "the community dying", how is that.? 36,000+ members. i think the only thing that is dying is the comradery that was here when it was a small community. which happens with any community when it grows.

I have not picked staff yet, I won't till we upgrade to vb3.5, better to do everything at 1 time.
So please stop bugging me about it, because those that do will not be selected.
I have 2 people set in mind right now, might bring on a third not sure.
i wouldn't mind helping around the place....im on a-soft most of the time anyway....i can be firm with decisions as well as leaniant depending on the situation (plus if it helps i can make a great toasted cheese sandwich lol).
