Recommendations for Staff

the glass is never half-full with you, is it, unbe?

from my point of view (not having been here in "the good ol' days") aqua-soft is pretty damn good in comparision to other communities.

Nope. The glass is always half empty :P

I do see Hobbes around alot, and I think he keeps his cool most of the time (Through posts I've read, I think). Even though he can't find his Siro Milk mod which I NEED..

Yeh, I vote for Hobbes :)

#318224

I don't know about Hobbes. If I'm not mistaken he's very young --- I'd suggest to pick older, mature people.

#318349

What age do you consider too young?

#318354

If I'm not wrong, Hobbes is around 15-16. That's not enough. Mod should be at least 18. I know it may sound weird, but it's just my opinion. It takes time to learn responsibility :)

Brian Peppers For Mod!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#318359

Aqua-Soft is an equal-opportunity hiring business, but they draw the line at sex offenders :P.

Unless you're below 18. 15-16 year old sex offenders are okay...mods must be either at least 18, or below 18 with a sex offender record.

:P

-NC

#318361

Thats one way to get nominated for the position of Mod NC!

#318369

WHAT IM only well i cant say but i guess this isint just an AQUA community if u must have a sex offender record! but i still vote for NC!

#318440

I think I would be capable of doing it, but I think nightcrawler and liquidplasmaflow would make good mods.

#318453

wuzzie=eww

anyways why doesn't the staff recommend people

Pe8er already did , didn't he? ;)

NC or Liquiplasmaflow would do a great job :)

#318512

Read the thread pat, I've been taking part in this discussion from the start.

#318514

staff=all the people employed by a particular organization

duh ;p

#318532

Another useful thread on the edge of going down the crapper.

Come on people, let's stay focused here.

So far it looks like NC and Liquidplasmaflow have some good backing.

As for age, yes, I think a mod should be at least 18 years old.

Heck I'm 35 and still make stupid decisions, so 18 is a must.

People have no clue what kind of a job is being a mod.

When i started i thought it would rock, now i just try to keep my temper.

People are so lazy and mods deal with so much crap it's no wonder i go ballistic all the time >.;)

#318536

Aqua-Soft is in the need for some new staffers, our newsposter team needs a few staffers to help keep the main page alive and well, you can check out their thread over here.

We also need at lease 2 new mods, for the forums. Since I really do not keep in touch with most of the members here, I really can't recommend anyone that is very active here, keeps their cool, and is a very respectable member.

So I'll ask the community for their suggestions on members here that might do a good job as staff.

I'll also offer my assistance, if we're allowed to nominate ourselves. I'd also say that nightcrawler would be a good person to mod.....i will be everything a good mod should be....smart, mean, friendly and helpful all at once

I know exactly how you feel. I mod one of many internal boards here at work. Even in a professional environment people act like kids.

I don't have the luxury of going ballistic though... could get me fired.

Unbe doesn't know what its like being a real mod on a forum, he should be surprised how stict forum admins are, you're lucky I let you mods do whatever :P called cyber trust (laughs ass off)...

Hell you go on say neowin, see a mod stap like unbe does, they'll be a member 5 min later :P

#318542

my real job, well, getting abused thrown at you like you were back at school is enough.

but twice in one night was far worse.

anyway, i don't really know who would make a good mod, even though i try and look at all the new threads.

That could be true but also, how strict are admins towards kids and n3wbs? Do they allow the kinds of posts we have here?

You either have "oppresive" mods or complete forum anarchy. If you think i'm going over the line, you know you can demote me in a sec.

#318546

I would suggest Mauricio alias Mubach, he's doing a pretty decent job at MacThemes.

He's strict enough to remove crap but nice enough not to scare ****ies and make them leave this community

#318548

Yep, Mau is a good candidate. +1 for him!

#318577

I don't know if it would help, but I'm a mod on a Forum of my University Institute.

Besides, I'm online on Aqua-Soft most of the time. ;)
