Dashboard WidgetDock

Yes the rest is working quite well... I haven't figured out the vertical Offset Mode though... Once checked, what sould one do?

PS... is there a way to incorporate the middle mouse scroll wheel to scroll through the widgets in the widget manager?

Also, I remember back in previous builds, making the mistake of clicking on the "Sort by Name" option (Before backing up my config) and loosing my custom organization of widgets in a heartbeat... could there be a way of making/adding an option to take a snapshot of the present organization to revert.. or has the potential loss of custom organizations of widgets on the dock already been addressed?

maybe i make an undo available for the sort (like in a special context menu for the sort button).

i thought about the scroll wheel but konfab does not support it for now, doesn't it?

if you have enabled the vertical offset mode you have to drag the arrow control (the same like in resize mode). maybe i have to describe it better.

#328765

hhaha.. i get it now.. re-using the adjuster arrows is a nice touch.

I don't know if Konfab supports the scroll wheel, would be nice if it did though; thanks for considering.

Yes Please, to the undo of the sort... would be nice to be able to play around with sorting without loosing the ability to revert back :)

not now, but could be possible.

next release is coming next week. for now there are the following new features in this release:

- set default icon for folder, program and widget

- general undo function in the widget manager

- context menu restored for the dock

- minor bug fixes

- maybe an interface to give your widgets the possibility to communicate with the dock (to update an icon for instance) (if its finished)

- the things i forgot in the moment ;-) its late here in germany

see ya

got someone running this new version on a mac let you know if they find anything this weekend.

- maybe an interface to give your widgets the possibility to communicate with the dock (to update an icon for instance) (if its finished)

Could that include the dock putting a close button in the corner?

If it did, that would be amazing like none other.

before releasing the next version, here is a little screenshot of the new default icons dialog:

icons.png

there you can set the default images like in the widget manager by clicking on the icons. (as you can see, there is a new default widget icon too). the default icon for folders is taken with permission from everaldo (i like his folder icon a lot).

the "more icons" button will link to a new favourite icon links page like the "more widgets" button in the widget manager will link to a similiar favourite widget links page.

so far,

the favourite icons buttons sounds like a nice addition, the new icons also look nice :P

hi there,

new release coming next monday. added localization for this widget. you can easily make all possible translations by adding a new javascript class to the widget. there will be two at the moment (english.js and german.js). All you have to do is make a copy of one of this files, name it like "klingon.js" and translate all the terms inside that file.you have to set the property "languageDisplayName" in that file to the language name to be displayed in the "Choose Language" dialog, dont change anything else except the terms inside the quotes or it wont work. After that all you have to do is adding the javascript file to the widget by including it in the class "localization.js". inside is a description how to do this but you just have to copy one of the existing lines of code for the two existing languages and replacing the filename with your filename. Thats all. The dock will show the new language choice automatically.

!!!Only tooltips, dialog text and context menu entries are translated. all graphic based text stay in english!!!

if you wish to do a translation I could add to the next release, here is the default english.js file. you're welcome.

hi there,

new version is out, see first post. features are undo support in the manager, hiding of manage widget button, performance optimization in the widget manager, change display language, default icons for widgets, folder and application can be specified seperatelly. more icons/more widgets will load a favourite links page.

the default icon for folder is taken with permission of everaldo from his crystal clear icon package. thanks a lot, like your work.

by the way, www.siosae.de is still under construction, just this little mainpage right now to host my widgets.

Thank you for this really impressive update, will try it out now.

Pardon me if this has already been discusses, but there are so many threads on Dashboard that searching for topics related to this feature is rather difficult.

In any event, I am wondering whether anyone knows of a way to get Konpose to come up by clicking on an icon on a dock like Stardock or RKLauncher. (Not the widget dock.) In the real OSX, when you click on the Dashboard icon on the regular dock Konpose appears. Is it possible with Konfabulator to link that feature to an icon on the dock? Thanks.

#336155

anybody got the script to add to my dock to launch konspose....if you know what i mean !!!!!

#336207

Any chance in porting it to Avedesk? It would be marvelous

roght on. Thnx Nightcrawler.

@Nicesnake

i already think about that, just want to have the next release finished and stable before doing it.

next release update:

- fixed some bugs preventing the widget to work on a mac. cross rotation corrected, manage widget.. button shown correct again.

- widget freezes because of a disabled futura font on mac (my widget only uses arial, but maybe konfab changes this on mac to futura and if you have disabled this font the widget crashes. i asked in the konfab forum about this but got no answer until now)

- fixed graphical bug while switching screen position

- added support to resize the cross and manage widgets button with the dock

- ...

release is coming soon, maybe early next week.

have a nice weekend

just released a new version, and a few minutes after i discovered the release of Yahoo! Widgets 3.0, and with this version, my widgetdock wont work well (with the feature widget spawning). modified it and will be release two new versions (for konfab 2.1.1 and yahoo! widgets 3.0) in a few minutes.

SioSae

#339125

see first post. decided to release a v2.9 version before starting to "port" the widget to Yahoo! Widgets 3.0 so this v2.9 will be the last version supporting Konfabulator 2.1.1

I will change animations and performance for the new release (3.0). new features wont be in it (for now)

hopefully it will work on mac, maybe someone can confirm that. Thanks

have fun,

SioSae

#339162

I can't waite to see what you'll be able to do in v3.0, is there anything that Yahoo! Widgets 3.0 will enable you to do that couldn't be accomplished in prior versions?

#339236

the whole dock and manager will be smoother with less cpu needed. the widget manager can be scrolled with your mouse wheel. we'll see what esle can be done.
