[release] Multi-Plugin 0.66 Beta - iTunes 4.9 compatible

As some of you have seen, my old host is gone for good. but thanks to Raaz, I have a decent hosting now

No more download problems...

Changes:

1. The core of the installer has been changed, so no more random Setup Error.

2. Attempt to fix the multimedia keys problem.

3. Non-local tracks (iPod, radio, etc.) will be played using the iTunes engine when Foobar2000 passthrough is enabled.

4. Multi-Plugin no longer tries to save memory when minimizing to tray. Maybe I'll bring that back in a later release.

Ok...It tells me to click on the title bar and when I do my cursor just goes to the right of my screen and stays there. I can't move it at all. :confused:

Edit...after I configure some options manually, the message goes away and everything works good

I hate when it does that... almost every installation. I think it happens because once iTunes it launched, my iPod updates.

pretty slick. the only complaint I have is the hover-effect over the min-max-close buttons shows the + - X over all at once instead of only the one over which you are actually hovering... I guess that is more "authentic" but my VS does the one only and not all three so i guess i'm not used to it...

Great update localhost. i just remembered that in previous versions there was an options to make multimedia keys work even when itunes wasnt selected. Does mplugin do this automatically now or was that feature scrapped? I thought this might be the reason that people are reporting that the multimedia keys arent working.

But either way, great release

Another Great Update.... Cool Stuff again.

I really loved the ability to play Radio playing through Foobar Passtrough... but some old issues again.. Multimedia Keys trouble, and I'm not sure if I really liked the idea of dropping Memoery management things.

Download DLL from this thread and copy it iTunes Plugin folder. I'm not sure if this will work for everyone, it did for me though. Also I've encouter a little bug... It does not work normally, what I have to do is use MM keys while iTunes window is active first, then one I minimized it.. it will work. If I start itunes and Minimize it .. the MM keys don't work. I've to take the first-use-then-minimize routine.. and they work like charm. Give it a try if mplugin MM keys does not work you.

So it's double thanks to LocalHost..

AS for me, for the memory management.. I'm switching back to 0.65 (It works still cool for me on iTunes 4.9).

Multimedia keys doesn't work, but with the dll ido recomended it worked.

judge - I don't get this, but I've changed something that may fix it in the next version.

btw, does the titlebar text change when you play a track?

shockme17 - if you have 0.66, no.

jpgodlew - it should take the mouse smoothly to the place of the Edit menu until it reaches Preferences. I guess it didn't work for you. I'll try to make that more stable.

DrEaMs In DiGiTaL - good point, I'll check that out.

kaloyster - I can hardly draw lines but there are a lot of great skin makers here that could do it.

IIRC there was a Milk skin for a previous version of Multi Plugin...

you can dump the iTunes resources using Multi Plugin, and then replace the files with matching files in the old skin. note there are some new buttons in iTunes 4.8 and 4.9 and they are not included in old skins.

iGo - I'll put the memoey saving feature back one day, when the plugin will be more stable.

Laslo - There is still an option to turn that on and off. I have no idea why the keys don't work for some people.

I made another attempt to fix it in the next version. too bad I can't test it here as it depends on the keyboard :/

btw, the multimedia keys just dpn't work, or is there some activity when they are pressed? maybe a hourglass cursor or higher CPU usage for a moment, or maybe you see the iTunes menu quickly showing and disappearing?

MM keys stopped working for me too with 4,9, I'm using MP0.66, and even tried that other MMplugin you made.

I'm using a Fujitsu Siemens MM keyboard.

Erm what can I say that hasn't already been said... great job local 0.66 works for me in much the same way as previous versions which is flawlessly for my needs, foobar plugin is nice to play round with. Great job (again!), thanks for single handedly keeping Windows iTunes modding alive. Still using iTunes sidekick for everything not covered by mplugin...

I had an idea for a rework of the miniplayer to include Album Art. I don't know anything about scripting, but I figured if I whipped something up in Photoshop, someone could have a go at it if they wanted.
