I'm new to miranda lol and my main focus atm is/was getting the bubbles 100%, so you say you were able to set the them.png? did it replace only missing avatars or all avatars? well I gtg to work I'll be on later

Like, I could edit the html and force it to use the them.png for everybody's avatar, but then it wouldn't pick up on the avatar of my contacts if they did have one. Like, the html now has "%Avatar%" in there for the image to load in the box, and if you set that to "them.png" it works fine, but that leaves you without true avatar support. I don't know enough about .css or .html or I'd fix it myself, but I do know that the Smooth Operator theme (which is what I use normally anyway) does manage to do it correctly.
I think this may have a simple fix, I can probably set the avatar as a div and the default avatar will be a background-image but then also have a filter transform image command for a new image src to be inserted, if one is provided via the %avatar% command. That way if one is not provided it will just be a transparent box, and you will be looking at the default avatar which has been set in place as a background of the div cell.
Awesome, that would be great....it may be how the other themes do it, I just honestly don't know jack about .html or .css, so thanks for your work. I'll be sure to include your version when I do the tutorial.
dunno if that's how the other themes do it or not, watch it be something even simpler lol to me html is html is html, it's all the same to me. Thx, hopefully if I am able to make an installer when I get done a tutorial won't be necassary, but then again I have never an installer for anything before.
For release 0.3 It will have at least 864 color variations in total, 144 color bubble variations(12 different colors) and at least 6 background color variations. I will also probably post it in a new thread.....so that it is no longer on the tail end of ZTL's thread even though it is based on his release.
Also variable avatar support for 32x32 and 42x42 should be possible.
glitch and ppoppe (the two bestest miranda modders 
) can i mod my html to read larger avatars instead of the default 30x30 pixels? maybe 48x48 would be fine.
and how can i make my message window automatically popup when someone sends me a message (or when the container is minimized)?

Is it just me, or is Miranda gay? I install it, and I can't connect to any of my accounts other than Yahoo!. Even when I edit the settings and what not, I cannot connect at all.
Also, where in the hell do I put IEView? No one really explained that all to well on how to install it. Also, is there a skin for Miranda that looks like the iChat AV? I can't seem to find that skin anywhere.
Better yet, can anyone provide a detailed tutorial on how to install IEView, the iChat AV skin, and the Bubbles? Just so that this **** can get a grand looking IM client that has actual working bubbles.

@NSS: And if you really think the rest of us care if you use Trillian or not, we don't! Use whatever you want. If the skin doesn't exist and you wish it did, quit being a whiny baby and make it, sheesh...
if you all are having problems with the appearance of the message histories from glitch's last release let me know I fixed that and can tell you the code changes that need to be made....its real simple
Oh I just found this thread also I'm looking into the message grouping trying to learn from other templates how its done. Seems like it might be somewhat easy to accomplish once I understand the process.
I want to use Miranda on my laptop. (btw, I don't mind Trillian's chat window look. Well I did tweak it a little but the text part is still the same. I actually think it looks rather nice). But anyway..
I'm not sure about the licensing of Trillian (whether I can install it on my desktop and laptop at the same time). So I'm going try Miranda out. I have experimented with it before. And it just gave me headaches, mainly because of all the version #s. Some say it's better to use .4 while others say .6 or the latest.
So I got a few questions that could use answering
One is the guide here ";http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=30932&highlight=miranda+guide" still usable? It's from 2005 and says to use Miranda 0.4.0.2.
Two is what version should I use? And why do people stay on .4 (is it because of plugin support that hasn't been upgraded to .6 yet)
Three is. How is avatar support with any plugin? I know the main default one doesn't download the avatars from the server. If there's none (or I have to assign them) I'll just use some generic one.
I hate to bump an old thread, but I've got a problem, and I figure it's more relevant to bump this thread than it is to create a new thread.
I'm dissatisfied with the plain background of the message window, so I decided to edit the green_blue theme to allow for a sort of light blue/gray background color shown in greyblue's desktop screenshot in the October screenshots thread. I went through and edited each of the image files to allow for transparent edges, edited the CSS and HTML to set the background color to the hex value I decided on, and applied the changes.
Unfortunately, the transparent upper left and right corners of the dialog bubbles do not display properly. They show the color of the dialog bubble--either green or blue--and NOT the background color. This does not occur with the sides and lower left/right corners: those display the background color properly.
Is there some special property of the upper right/left bubble corner images that prevents them from properly displaying the background color?
