[Release] Safari fx 1.0 Preview Release
ok steelfist it's just that im really eager to have a really good safari clone.....btw if anyone ever says 'why not buy a mac it will have safari on it perfect' in this thread please do not hesitate to shoot them as this forum is about improving Mozilla Firefox...(a bit of a random comment i know but i'd just like people to bear it in mind)
how do you get the bookmark toolbar like the original safari?
also, the tabs are lighter than the rest of the top bar...
Hey Mgs0008b221
any chance of a SAFARI WBA theme with the close/min/max buttons on the right hand side?
Thanks!
No. I'm a firm believer that if you're trying to get as clsoe to Safari as possible, that should include the title bar buttons... but for functionality reasons sometimes that is not best.
... but you're in luck. The Safari fx theme matches perfectly with Hills' Brushed 3.5 theme, which has buttons on the right side. Google it, or find it on his page at dA.
it's not highlighted though!...ive made a theme but i can't get it to work preperly...anyone want to take the project off my hands?...it's supposed to look good outside of firefox as awell but the titlebar and the toolbar backgrounds have screwd up...(the separator has gone bad....it's an msstyle btw if anyone can help it would be great from safari fx
Two things...
One, I made an updated version of the WindowBlinds skin that matches this theme. It's based on the Bz theme (which is a good bit mroe treamlined, with less errors). You can find it here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/19579734/
Two, we're been wanting a remake of the brushed theme for a while right? Well we may have just got it! The new iTunes mplugin skin by Mntnbkr1065 uses a new brushed background that is perfect for tiling. I would apply this myself, but I think it would be better if one of our good Firefox skinners did it, as it would surely be cleaner than my little hacks. http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=26384
Drag a space onto the toolbar in front of the forwar/back buttons.
flexible space is better. the space takes too much space i think. you can put like five flexible spaces and it might move to the right a bit.

thanks 4 your reply steelfist
but i don't wanna insert any space buttons.
just i'd like modify resouce file of skinname.jar like browser.css or whatever
could u tell me again where can i edit ?
sorry for my bad english..
If you want to change it in the theme itself, if I remember it's Global>toolbarbutton.css
anyone care to make a 1pix border brushed highlighted theme for those of us with msstyles
?

Drag it into Firefox's themes window. Else Java will try to run code from that file (.JAR is java code)
yep sujaan is right thats what you do...i thought you meant your browser said that...my mistake
firefox 1.05 is out and it's not compatible with safari fx....can someone make the various mods and post them here please ![]()
I mad a mod for Mgs0008b221's Safari FX SmoothStripes theme to make it look like Platinum:
that strange border is part of the theme your using for windows i suggest you use a 1px msstyle theme or a 0px border windowblinds theme to fix your 'problem'....we need this theme updated for 1.05.....help someone!....i remember this thread was so active before but now it's gone quiet! :
edit: woo! now ff 1.06 is out! all the things that were supported in 1.04 are supported in 1.06.....no point in asking for help now!
Looks like he's using a msstlyes theme though, I don't think they support 1px themes (not certain). I would suggest WindowBlinds (not really any other options). bad news is that is costs money and it's a little slow on some machines. The cost problem can be overcome but you have to figure out by yourself.
EDIT: I was wrong... (see post below)
they do support 1px borders man!
so is this compatible with the new ff 1.06?
