Forgot to say: put blank spaces at beginning and the end of the main toolbar for the real metrics, and try moving the compact menu left to the bookmark items in the personal toolbar
[Release] Safari fx 1.0 Preview Release
VERY nicely done. The "proper" brushed background is the one thing that has been eluding me.
I now have the perfect Safari clone. ![]()
[EDIT] Actually, I do have one slight issue. Now I'm using the BZ panther WindowBlinds skin instead of my own modified skin, I have the firefox icon on the titlebar.
Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of it?

Delete it from the titelbar sing SkinStudio.
what font are you using in the bookmarks bar?
and can i have your version of that font...also what size is it....what cleartype setting are you using?
highlighted brushed theme variation wont work! :confused:
i have ff 1.04...help
oh myl your browser's really messed up. what did you do to make it like that? ok. no lucida grande in computer or make browser not use lucida grande. then, instal everything from the safari fx compressed package except the fusion.xpi. then, use the safari theme provided by Mgs0008b221 to make it all capatible. you have to use windowblinds 4.5 (i tested with 4.2 too. not good) to make it all work. i also installed stop/reload extension just to make sure. don't know if it's needed. also titlebar tweeks (that is modded to support 1.04) to make it even better.
to start with, backup your bookmarks and delete everything pertaining to firefox and do a reinstal and follow the steps. if you want anything other than brushed, i don't know but this procedure is direct and i have excellent results. as perfect as it can be. it's very difficult to undo mistakes, and it's a lot better to restart
A while ago there was a compact menu mod that used the "Aa" icon (I reckon it must be zoom in and out on Safari).
Does anyone have that? Or just the icon?
[EDIT] Nevermind. Turns out I had it all along.
Just tought I would add this for people who are having some problems removing the empty space where the file, edit, etc. menus were.
Make sure you have the Compact Menu extension installed!
Right click in the empty space between your reload/home buttons and select Customize. Next move all your buttons, address ba,r and search bar up to the empty top row. Then move your bookmark row to where the buttons/address/search were. Last, deselect the Bookmarks Toolbar from the little menu that popped up when you right clicked in between your buttons and your all set!
Nice to see that for the most part people's problems are getting solved quickly. Keep up the support guys!
then, use the safari theme provided by Mgs0008b221 to make it all capatible
where is this... i don't remember a firefox theme being made by Mgs0008b221?, i dont remember it being posted here!...is it a wb theme? and whats wrong with the fusion extension won't it work with this highlighted theme?
edit: started from the beginning (wiped profiles and folder in the mozilla firefox folderand ive got the same kind of problem with the background of firefox...(its only the top that im having problems with...im using firefox 1.04 if that helps)...if someone else has to start from the beginning as i did i think theyll have the same problem...
the statusbar works fine with the theme and so do the tabs but i can't get the top toolbars to have that background
the normal safari fx theme works fine (but isn't highlighted
)
sorry if i didn't make much sense im using an on screen keyboard because my keyboard broke...so i might make mistakes
(btw i don't have the right visual style theme activated on purpose as i am making my own at the moment)
The theme only looks right with a brushed theme because the other toolbar background was removed, it can´t be replaced for a brushed highligt image because firefox themes only support fixed centered backgrounds and visual styles are stretched so the titlebar and the toolbar don't would match nice (this is why you only see the background of your actual visual style), for what i saw in your screenshot, everything is ok, just need a windowblinds or visual style theme with brushed highlight to match the tabs and the statusbar.
Now i'm working to port the safarifx features and the brushed theme to the deer park build wich is damn fast, and im testing the tabmix extension, damn fast too, it will take a little while because is a lot of work, but not impossible.

thanks i understand how it works now...brilliant
thanks for that deer park build? whats that?info please!
"thanks for that deer park build? whats that?info please!"
Some info...
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/deerpark/r...ses/alpha1.html
Current users of Mozilla Firefox 1.0.x should not use Deer Park Alpha 1.
Many thanks to everyone who has been involved in this theme, I never thought it could ever get this far.
Since I've only ever used Safari once, some time ago, is there anything still missing to make this even more perfect?
clearer fonts for the bookmarks bar maybe? oh and a rss button extension
i se visual styles not wb themes can someone port the theme used for the highlighted brushed theme please
hey guys i need a good high definition brushed highlighted picture to make a better visual style (than the safari style from deviant art)....can someone please submit one that would match the background of safari?...its just that the current safari visual style looks overstretchedand well um kinda crappy apart from when your using safari (im talking about the backgrounds for exploror windows here)
guys, i need some help. i haven't customize my firefox after i reinstalled it. i am currently using the latest deer park rc1 and i can't install the theme. help please! also, i am also having trouble installing extensions because of "incompat" version number. long ago i read that there's a line to edit, but i don't remember where and which.
Safari fx doesn't run with deer park*. But there are two other brushed themes which do: this and that.
*although you can force installation: Change the 1.0 Preview Release Line in install.rdf to e.g. 1.0 and repack the theme. It will install in Deer Park, but it'll crash the first time you start ![]()
Hey guys, fantastic job on the theme so far, and a special thanks to Mgs0008b221 for making a SmoothStripes version (fits perfectly with my Milk-based theme). I installed the "add bookmark" extension that jggame posted, and the button didn't look right at all--too big, and not fitting with the others. I noticed that the default "new tab" button in SmoothStripes (and, I assume, the original Safari skin) was exactly what I needed, so I simply went into saf-addbookmark.jar and linked the button images to those from the theme itself, and it fits perfectly.

Assuming the original button PNG is in the same place for both versions of the theme, it should seamlessly link to either of them.
Here's a copy of the jar file; just back up the original in Application DataMozillaFirefoxProfilesdefaultextensions{00D44AB1-2937-435b-AF38-F2D2D6D0DD50}chrome.
(The extension namespace is from my own computer, so your results may vary.)
EDIT: By the way, if you want to remove icons and the progress throbber from tabs, just modify the code that was posted earlier (forgot the author and page number):
.tabbrowser-tabs *|tab:not([busy]) .tab-icon {
-moz-opacity: 0 !important;
}
should be:
.tabbrowser-tabs .tab-icon {
-moz-opacity: 0 !important;
}
The first removes the icons, but leaves the throbber. The second removes both icon and throbber. Add it to your userChrome.css file, hope it helps somebody out. ![]()
you can theme the adbookmark button with:
#addbookmark-button {
list-style-image: url(chrome://path/to/the/image.png);
-moz-image-region: rect(0px 28px 25px 0px);
}
#addbookmark-button:active {
-moz-image-region: rect(25px 28px 50px 0px);
}
toolbar[iconsize="small"] #addbookmark-button {
-moz-image-region: rect(0px 28px 25px 0px);
}
toolbar[iconsize="small"] #addbookmark-button:active {
-moz-image-region: rect(25px 28px 50px 0px);
}
