Awesome! This was definetely worth my 5 Euros :)

#281690

Several version before 4.8 played music videos and movie trailers inside the iTMS. 4.8 is the first version that allows you to organize your music videos, etc., the same way you do your music! This is awesome - I've been waiting for Apple to make an "iVideo" type of app for this purpose, but they just included the functionality in iTunes.

For a guy with a couple hundred music videos, this is awesome!

:D

Well, it's good to know. I have to update to 4.8 then. ;)

Thank you!

You may not have seen this before, but I just wanted you to know about my crashing issue. I guess I can test new builds, tell you if there is still a problem.

Oh man, I can't wait for an update. It would be nice to be able to use 4.8 and your plugin. Maybe it could be possible to make iTunes 4.8 play video files other than just *.MOV files.

But, I just have one desired feature that I want iTunes to have. Ok, you know the "Links > to Music Store" arrows, that are listed next to the song track name, artist, and album. When you click the arrow, iTunes searches the iTunes Music Store for the song, but if you hold "shift" when you click the arrow, it searches your own library. I would like a feature that would flip the arrows functionality. I would like to be able to click it with out holding shift and have it go to my own library, instead of the iTunes music store. I know on the Mac version of iTunes, there is a way to flip the functionality of the button, using a script. But so far I do not know of any way to do it on the windows version. localhost, I believe with your expertise you will be able to solve the problem with ease. Please let me know what you think localhost.

I'm lucky enough to be a Mac user :D so I'm familiar with this. It's not a script per se that's needed - it's just an edit to iTunes Preferences file (which are usually XML files in Mac OS X). So, while there isn't a GUI button for this feature, it's clearly supported inside the Prefs file (I forget the name of the "key", but it's there in plain text).

So, I looked inside iTunes prefs file for Windows. It's a text file, but all the values are encoded as numbers. I made one change to iTunes 4.8 (don't show links to iTMS), and that resulting in exactly one character changing in the prefs file - the last charater in the Prefences line (line #2 for me) changed from a 4 to a 3. Uh-huh, I thought. That character must control ALL aspectes of those arrows. Well, I changed that character to all possibilities from 0-7 (didn't try 8-F), but each time iTunes recognized that the prefs were changed and insisted on recreating them. Even if I went from 4 to 3 by myself, iTunes somehow recognized that someone edited the file. :( Couldn't see a checksum in the file, but they must have something...

A little more testing has me fairly convinced that it's actually the last BIT in that character that controls showing arrows (1 = show, 0 = don't). Now, someone just needs to figure out what the other 23,000 characters do on that line (and how to keep iTunes from resetting the prefs), and we'll be all set! ;)

I've tried messing with that file, but to no avail.

I think it would be easier to hook some API functions, or maybe just change the parameters of the mouse event messages, to make iTunes think Shift is pressed.

I'll try it when I'll have the time.

As a skinner, I would consider the following my personal holy grail:

- Ability to kill the background gradient

- Ability to use colors in the background

- Ability to change the interface text color

... all of which is probably near impossible to do, so this is the last time you'll hear me mention these.

Anything you do, I'm sure will be fantastic... as long as it works :)

#283033

changing text color is possible, and pretty easy. the problem is distinguish the different places of text. I could do it if I'll succeed reading the strings from the localized .qtr files (which are basically Mac resource files). I'll look on Apple's site for that some time later.

everything else pretty much impossible without manually drawing the background. which is something I intend to do some time. I've almost done it one time, but failed to get the text below the Browse/Burn/Refresh button, below the search field, and the bottom text, all of which are more likely possible now.

P.S.

Can anyone post a concept for the options dialog? one reason I don't want to add too much options is not no bloat the dialog :P

#283069

Have I mentioned recently that you're a living god?

Options dialog? Maybe it'd be possible to handle multi-page the way Firefox does in it's options panel. If you put category icons across the top, it would look very mac-like. I don't really care as long as everything is categorized somehow.

Request: How about a button/hotkey that restarts iTunes when pressed. It would make modifying skins a lot easier. Currently I have to close iTunes and wait about 5-10secs for it to fully unload before I can start it again.

Finally: What's the deal with the "Burn" button animation? Will this be editable in the near future? Any comments about the format of this?

#283604

so not to be a pest or anything, but are we gonna see this plugin again soon? i miss it on 4.8 :)

#283832

I'm sticking with 4.7 for now where its all working perfectly... don't see why I'd want to play video clips with iTunes yet :)

#283864

darnit i regretted upgrading. oh well. at least strokeit makes me not need to use the close maximize buttons so i don't mind either side for now but having only itunes an application from apple (who makes an operating system that has all the buttons on the left for it's windows) is very ironic.

#283995

This is SICK. GREAT WORK!

#284019

I wish i hadnt upgraded to 4.8, im having issues with my mIRC script :(

iTunes just was updated to 4.8 so everyone knows. Does anyone know if this plugin supports it?

I ve tried multiplugins 0.6 on itunes 4.8, i have a little bug when i start i tunes (i use the hide menu function, without this option ON, you have not that prob)

when i start itunes 4.8, i have 2 title bars on (the upper one) is not skinned (stop lights and buttons in the right) it s windows one, and the second title bar is the Mac OS X one

when u click on the green stoplight to see a mini itunes palyer and click on it again itunes appears without that bug

same thing when u start itunes in the mimi player mode, a little bug too, there is an awaful white "contour"...

Hurry?!

Do you think localhost works ONLY and JUST for you so he should hurry on your request?

This is officially labeled as developer bugging so consider this your first warrning cause there won`t be a second one.
