If anyone wants to get into hardcore/melodic hardcore I recomend Good Riddance (awesome band from California), Anti-Flag (their lyrics are the bomb) and Ignite.

If it's 80s it is Good, if it's post 80s it is either monosylabic melancholious me too archipelago ( maybe) with no style (most likely), or worst rap-crap noise of the stone tribal age. 90% of the singers and bands of the 90s will not be remembered unlike the 80s most bands produced multiple top-hits that have endured creating a post 80s music market. The increase in popularity to Country Pop and Christian Gospel is a direct result of poor music based on rap. Don't get me wrong, I do like some rap music but most is not that great. You wouldn't know this but the concept of rap is based on the ability to make a song about everyday life outside the whole commercial scene. While American rap today is based on African music, the concept of rap in Latin America can be traced to Country Music and a guitar, where South American cowboys would pick up a guitar and sing along the fire having competitions. One would start by creating a few lines of a song and the next cowboy would add a few more lines going back and forth in a competition style. Getting back to modern times and bands:

The Go-Gos
The Cars
Wham!
etc.

Anyway, the 80's sucked pretty hard. Music died in 1970. The Beatles, Grateful Dead (i know, didnt die in '70), Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan (I know, I know), and THOSE type of guys are the real transendants (word of the day).

I like the 80's hits as well - What im about to mention is what i love the most. Some of the bands below might have only couple hits and some are quite famous:
Dire straights, The cars, the stranglers, men at work, human league, SIMPLE MINDS!, Madness, the clash, TEARS FOR FEARS!, talking heads, ugly kid joe (2 hits 
) etc.

There is one thing i noticed and its linkin park. I did liked their hit "in the end it doesnt even matter" + couple of more cool ragey " 
" songs in that album which really owned me for awhile. I do still have couple of their songs and i must admit their new album really rocks, but after awhile i got tired of their too angry and too
consistant type of lyrics and songs. I often listen to the rock station in the radio while driving, and each time there is linkin park i feel like i came out from a jerry springer juvenile killing fest cause each one of their goddamn songs is eminmend"I'm gonna run away never say goodbye"
(the first official usage of eminem as a verb for whaaaaaaing). Its a fact and Im not giving you my opinion. Some people may like their music - and some just get tired and start hating it, so there.I'd be happy to know people think like me.

I guess I'll just stick to listening to Classical and traditional songs.

Mot singers nowadays are just models. Look at Britney Spears. She's a fine piece of åss, but her songs are sh##ty. I tend to go for singers who have beautiful voices and sound control, not their looks. Hell, my fav singer is one of the ugliest møtherfücker alive..
