section should be kept on one line to make the section it's in less bloated. Also, change the location bar to be one line if possible.
Also, maybe the top toolbar could be changed to the new Tiger style gradient.
I will do a postbit and posting mockup sometime in the week (once I get soem resources from my iBook (okay, so their Mac OS 10.3 when I was suggesting 10.4 style's get implemented)..
Looks hot, only thing i have beef with currently is that theres a small gray space between the titlebar and toolbar / navigational buttons, i'm currently in ie, i'll see if this happens in firefox too.

Actually about the Welcoming text and the Private messaging, if I make it 1 line it looks like crap when you are anywhere but the board index. IMO I believe it looks clean right now as is.

very nice skin, some minor things i noticed were that the people who have MSN, their icon seems to still be using the old vBulletin icon. and the litte document next to # hours ago seems o be the old style too. Im not even sure if its possible, but the little icons above this fast reply box could be changed to a more aquaish look. Keep up the good work!

Also, the forum looks really bad when the postbit is stretched (like in this thread) >_<
Is it possible to add a drop shadow to lift the pages off of the blue?
The title box when posting a reply continues off the right hand side of the screen by about 200px.
The edit avatar boxes also do the same thing.
I really dont like the folders used for Forum sections.
and finally I don't know if you've got round to this yet - but the pinned threads have the same icon as normal posts.
Overall this is a smooth skin and alot softer on the eyeballs - great work Timan.
ok, here are my suggestions.
add drop shadow to the body of the forums to distance it from the blue bg and make it pseudo 3D.
add sub-forums to the forum's front page. i know it might look bloated but it`s much more convenient tho jump to a subforum.
Maybe increase the spacing between the sub forum links? look a bit tight now.

I am really liking the skin.
Some suggestions:
In the post view, I think the colors should be switched. Blue for the member info, white for the post. It makes more sense to me that the post is on white. But maybe others will differ.
Can the attachment icon on the New Posts page (or even in general) be moved? If so, I would like it to be like the Mail attachment icon. Where it is in its own column with the aqua peg button.
On the New Post page. I don't know if these things will also affect other aspects throughtout the forum:
How about the Thread Starter column to be left-justified with a little indent, like iTunes.
I know you are not done with it but are you planning an alternating color bg on post list? And will the last action be included?
On the new post page, there is no upper border on the column headers. At least in FireFox 1.0.

Maybe it indeed is kinda blue-ish, but that intensifies the Tiger look.
I'd like the blue to be more Aqua gel-ish, like the scrollbars,
but maybe that would make it too pimpin'?

a couple of things i found...
-the calendar is mangled lol
-some text kinda looks to big to me... imo
-and the thing that comes up that tells you that you can only make one search every 15 min, looks in bad shape.

wow this looks great. i agree the postbit does need some work but as you said you haven't even started yet. well i don't see anything else thats wrong with it so keep up the good work!
it looks good to me tim. i think the shadow was a good idea.
i can't think of much that hasn't already been mentioned except for the part about the blue bg... maybe add a choice to switch it to a graphite color?
you also have to fix the reply to post, the 'reason for editing' and 'title' fields run off the screen (screenshot)

yeah timmy! and don't listen to blasphemers who are nay-saying the blue bg. it's freakin' aqua, fer chrissakes!
besides what others have said, i think the space between the im indicators and the online status indicators could be tightened up (or, conversely, the space between 'posts:xxx' and the im indicators loosened up), so that it is more evenly spaced.
also, the search box, while not running off the screen or anything, is maybe a bit longer than it need to be.
but thank you for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your work and hopefully contribute.
btw: i think the calendar looks fine. s'gotta be the least used feature on the whole board.
btw#2: thankyouthankyouthankyou for making the home button really the home button. i hated scrolling to the bottom of the page for that link. and there's no way i'm gonna do that much typing!
edit: i get it. the im stuff is part of the 'identity' and the online stuff is pinned to the bottom. in that case, i would just try to add a little space between the text and the im stuff, so it's not so cramped.
