Very nice! Animations are a bit slow, but I like this a lot. Doesn't seem to capture every single one of your windows though...explorer.exe was missed.

i've never tried it, as i got the same error as bicet (i have gfx5200LE).
what's the difference compared to winplosion? which one is better?
i try both and i prefer winplosion for thooses reasons : keep my desktop background
i can configure my shortcut key
less weird effect whith alpha blendind( shadow; transparency ...)
may its better whith the full version don't know ll![]()
A new, free-upgrade release of Entbloess is coming out on November 14th which addresses some of those issues...
Well...everytime I hit the F9 and F10 keys I get an error beep...maybe a clash with ObjectBar or some other...or do I need to delve deeper into the settings config?
That is usually the result of a lack of video memory or the 3D device being in exclusive use by another program (e.g. a full-screen game). It can also happen in 16-bit mode, the 16-bit problem is being fixed for the next release.
Thanks, that seems to have solved the window previews being slightly blurry. However, the text overlayed on it seems to be blurred a lot. I'll have a play around with some of the font settings and see if that helps
There are new font settings in the next release, including outlines and shadows to make the text a lot clearer.
my vids do not continue to play when expose'ed, i thought it's suppose to according to the product description?
Certain programs use certain video-drawing procedures and thus do not appear properly in Entbloess. This cannot be overcome due to the way the underlying software is architectured (i.e. windows and graphics drivers don't let Entbloess do this). If a workaround for this were created, it would have to be application-specific.
this is not working properly in my multimonitor setup.
Multimonitor setups do not work properly in Entbloess. This is also being fixed in the next release.
It doesn't work with my system, it tells me thatThis version of Entbloess is designed for windows XP, the system that I'm using
Do you have any suggestion?
This is a bug, it should say this version is designed for Windows 2000. The next release of Entbloess has a better installer that will automatically detect your OS. Sorry about that.
Animations are a bit slow
You can change the speed of animations in the Entbloess 2 Settings under the Appearance page (you may have to scroll down).
explorer.exe was missed.
What window specifically was missing (was it a folder view, which folder was it)?
keep my desktop background
Entbloess applies your desktop background as its background if you set it to under the Appearance settings page.
i can configure my shortcut key
You can do that in Entbloess as well (under the Keyboard page).
less weird effect whith alpha blendind
Are you referring to windows that are alpha-transparent? Or something that Entbloess is doing that is alpha-transparent (e.g. the fade in)?
Remember that not all applications are perfect first time, there are so many different situations and states that computers can be in that it's hard to prepare for all of them, that's why Entbloess comes with life-long free upgrades and support.
A good place to post problems and bugs that you want solved would be the Entbloess forums at
Shane S. Anderson
President and Head Programmer of Nipaco Enterprises.
shane, nice to see you've made yourself a member here. i am 'koara' that posted at your site.
i must say, i am a customer to WinPlosion too, but your app is better in my opinion. let's just hope that competition will make things better! (really though... i hope winplosion will bring challenge to entbloess... cuz it certainly isn't happening right now)
Nice to see you here ShaniackXP. Great app.
One thing I have noticed though. It hates DesktopX and will not work as soon as DX2.21 is loaded, or DesktopX hates it and takes over the keyboard shortcuts no matter how I assign them.
I've dumped DX2.21 (even though I pay for a subscription) in favour of Kaps and AveDesk1.2 as they work perfectly with Enbloess, among other reasons of DX just annoying the crap out of me [/rant]
Woah, this is a great app! Thanks alot for you hard work, this is actually usefull instead of just being pretty!
Excellent news, looking forward to the new version ![]()
I just did an extensive comparison between this app and Exposé.
The only things I find different about this app vs Exposé are:
-It is a bit slower and not as responsive
-No mouse over hot spots (in the next version there will be)
-Taskbar dissapears (hope to have that fixed?)
-No option to move all windows to the side (Next version as well)
GalAAr!...still not working for me...GForce2 MMX400, 32 bit colour depth, SP1, other stuff...Flyakite's systemfiles...Ahh! Windows XP!
juno - pn the speed front, its the same and actually quicker for me when there are a lot of windows, than Expose on my 1.25Ghz 15.2" PowerBook
So you mileage will vary.
Expose still has the edge on visual fidelity by a hair.

What graphics card do you have?
Well, I guess I dont mean the speed by which the windows go small, I mean the speed of when I hit F9 and the windows start going small. It seems a bit delayed, though, I just checked "Get Previews that have changed size" and it seems to go away almost completely.
Taskbar dissapears (hope to have that fixed?)
Yes there's an option to Show the Taskbar in the next version of Entbloess.
It seems a bit delayed, though, I just checked "Get Previews that have changed size" and it seems to go away almost completely.
If you want it to always appear instantly, put the following settings on:
Animation - Slide only (default is slide and fade).
Background Image - None (default is desktop).
"Always obtain a preview for the foreground window" - False (default is true).
On Initiation - Don't get any previews (default is get non-existant).
Of course, you can tailor how much appearance you want compared to performance. In the next version there is an option when loading the default settings to have Best Appearance or Best Performance. Since I have only a 16MB video card, I had to choose Best Performance.
That should help to eliminate any delays juno.
i have the opportunity to test out the coming version and let me tell you guys, there are a lot of changes. this is turning out to be a damn amazing app, not that it wasn't before. about everything that's promised to be released this month are already implemented and shane is still looking to make it better.
maybe some of you have visited his forum, but in his forum, i've made suggestions, etc and everything has been addressed.
and today, we got around playing with this neat little feature he added himself, a little drag and drop with expose... lol, definitely hard to explain but a neat feature.
long story short, there are speed optimizations, more options and best of all... it's EXPOSE for windows!
oh yeah, as a customer of both winplosion and entbloess... i have to say that entbloess blows winplosion right out of the water.
@juno - 256MB X800. But yeah, looking at it with say only 2 windows open on each system, Expose is quicker while animation is used on both. But still slower with lots of windows open.
This is just about the only app the DOESN'T drag on my laptop. Might be worth the investment,
Hmm are your Movie/MediaPlayer Windows black, too ?
Hmm are your Movie/MediaPlayer Windows black, too ?
that is being worked on. shane and i have discovered that though it is not suppose to work right now, sometimes movies will play (sometimes only for couple seconds). it has to do with directx and is being worked on. visualizations do work though.
and good news to all, the updated version is complete. not sure when shane will release it or post it... we're still ironing some things out. please do share your experiences. =)
like i said, this is the closest to expose in windows i have ever used. =D
The only thing left to do with this app (apart from optimisations and the other stuff Shane has already done) is to do a 'clear desktop' function.
Great app, well worth the money.
clear desktop
If you mean Show Desktop, there is the F11 key. It isn't animated yet and it is slow the first time you do it but I'm working on those two issues.

Excellent update ![]()
@ ShaniackXP
Simply amazing, great attention to detail and subtleties in useability. A true please to work with.
I have just installed this most recent update and so far not a problem... I am running an HP zd7188cl Laptop: winXP Home SP2, P4 3.2Ghz, NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5600.
Only suggestion is further attention be paid to the show desktop feature. I like the fact that it is quick (without animation) however, I really miss the characterics of iEX's (Siwu's app) show desktop where it preserves the state of the desktop (behind the scenes) and hides the windows out of the way when tapping a hotspot, allowing me to click on, and drag a file, and tap the hotspot again to reveal the exact environment i had previously hidden, to then drop the file on the desired, accessible window.
iEX would always bring back the preserved state of the desktop windows. Even if I opened a new window while the other's were hidden, when I tapped the hotspot, all the other windows would then surface, but simply beneath the newly opened window. This is such a handy feature and is soo intuitive. Whereas, I have noticed that Entbloess (and even winplosion) behave similar to Windows "show desktop" feature where it almost seems unpredictable whether the windows would return to their original displayed states after the user does some things in between hiding and then showing. I hope this makes sense ![]()
edit: I have just experienced my first crash. I believe it was when trying to expose my windows after my laptop came out of it's screensaver. I had this same problem with winplosion, if this is indeed the issue.
Anyways, I purchased your app and wanted to express my gratitude for your work, and it seems dedication to making it better and listening to peoples suggestions and ideas. I am rooting for this one!
regards,
~fc
Very nice, and thank you!
One problem:
The first time I ran this, it didn't play nicely with localhost's mplugin for iTunes: the close bar reverted in the screenie. Don't know if there's much you can do about this, and it's not too big a deal, but...
This is a great program, and, considering Windows graphics limitations, a very close Expose clone!

Entbloess (and even winplosion) behave similar to Windows "show desktop"
Yes, that's true, both products use Explorer's Show Desktop feature as the Show Desktop. The reason I did that was because when trying to implement my own Show Desktop feature, there seemed like a lot of potential for something to go wrong, so I decided to leave an independant show desktop feature for a later build.
laptop came out of it's screensaver
Interesting... what screensaver do you use? That may help to explain this.
This actually works pretty well. Thanks ![]()
