What's so hard about waiting till the real creater releases them.
They look good but this makes you look like the biggest dork (a.k.a Whale's Penis). Patieence is damn virtue.
I do believe you need the Author's permission because you are infact altering his work and suppling images without consent.
Too bad you didn't post 'em as transparent PNGs like the Minium drives preview at Macthemes.net right Lou?

Josh, I am not releasing them, so I don't know what the big deal is.
I mean if I was releasing them, I could understand you being mad at me waiting for the release day, but come on, I am not and do not plan on releasing them.

1. Hein was pissed off because someone stole his icons for commercial and public use. Did I do that? No.
2. I didn't intend this to be a "nananana" thread, and I belive that anyone can interpret it like that, but I put it in Digital Studio, not Rips and Unauthorized Works, thank you. I made this thread to get opinions on the work i put into it, not to be flamed about how I stole from Sascha. How did I rip or steal from him if I don't release it?
Are you saying that our whole site, Aqua-Soft, could not be possible because we stole the IDEA of Aqua from Apple and used it for our viewing pleasure on our Windows machines? I am a FAN of Sascha, and mocked up his icons as we here are a FAN of Aqua and Apple, and made Windows themes and Windows programs to mock Apple!

But you have to agree that those icons are probably the most coveted icons today, and everyone is waiting for them.

and when it's all said and done, they are *just* icons and after a week or so, we will all switch to whatever new and exciting comes along..... in my opinion, they aren't even close to the goodness that Snow E gave us. :give up:

And that's what I took it as... it's like a tutorial, without the explanation. Haven't you just looked at something and said "ya know, I like that, I'm going to make it as best I can just to see how close I can get to the real thing"?
Isn't that what this forum is about? Customizing until we get the "real thing"?

Cant wait for the real thing! good work lou... I decided to try my hand also. Believe me though I am still waiting just like everyone else and I debated posting this cause I wouldnt want to make anyone mad. I could see how as an artist it would be frustrating to see someone post there own copies of work that you had not released. Sascha if you read this thanks for all your great work!
anyways... one cool thing is that I made the tab transparent so that the shadow from avedesk shines though. It looks really cool on the calabi icons. Maybe I will finally get around to making my own icons now...

Lou, I'm down with your showing off your work, I'm not sure why I haven't gotten around to doing the same...
Have you done up an entire mini set based off of them, or have you just re-done what was available. Showing a set inspired from them ( such as bzeitler has done ) would pretty cool, even if they aren't released until Sascha finishes his.
for the record, I'm still using random SnowE.2 icons, I can't get away from them!
You obviously have some great skills at Photoshop, It would definately be nice to see you create an icon set inspired by Minimum....
