[release] Iconstructor V.2

Great app man thanks alot!

#322145

OK now, its almost ready. Unfortunately, I had to replace stylish color dialogs from previous versions with standard Windows one. Can anyone provide a screenshot how the MacOS Color Dialog looks like?

After adding libGFL features and reworking all other the size of main executable iconstr.exe has increased just by 20KB (392,5 KB totally, tho it's not final version yet). There'll be also a compressed libGFL in distribution pack, so the whole pack will be about 700KB - 1MB. Hope that's not too heavy for you.

I've also planned a bunch of new features, but they will be added in further builds. Right now I must increase the minor version number first.

#322368

Good news. I think 1mb is a pretty small size for an application that can do what it does.

#322391

Believe me, it will be much more than it is now.

And I have to specially double my own request for a Color dialog screenshot.

#322492

this board is something else is like everbody is in defense mode lol

what i said was not meant as an insult more as my opinion and what ithink about it.

#322498

Found the color picker @ www.GUIdeBookGallery.com. Heh, pretty complex thingy. Maybe next time...

Hello everyone!

Here's piping hot package of brand new version. I'll summarize the feature list for all those who came for the first time and for those who forgot iConstructor because of infrequent updates.

iConstructor v.2.2.0.133

  • Text shadow: text can have a blurred, semitransparent, coloured shadow.
  • New skinned Mac'ish interface, supporting XP visual styles as well
  • Output to PNGs with alpha-channel
  • ICO file writing ability (all my thanks to AndreasV!!!)
  • Drag-and-Drop capabilitites

The .icns import feature doesn't work :slant:

Tried the same file with Axialis IW, and it was successful. I get the following error in iConstructor:

"While importing file C:Documents and SettingsNC1089DesktopDevice Floppy.icns

libgfl reported:

Unknown format."

I'm using Windows XP SP1...um, is there anything else you need to know?

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

P.S: Everything else looks good though! Very comprehensive.

Thanks.

About the bug: Please read the readme. It's the GFL library error, I can't do anything with it. Everything that is reported by libgfl isn't in my defence. Here's the screenshot, my copy here works fine. This computer DOESN'T have gfl sdk installed or what. Sorry.

P.S. Gonna testit more on monday. At work I have a nice testing machine - a notebook w/ WXP Home SP1 /w anything else

Ah well...tried a different libgfl (twice the file size), but still didn't work. Shame :slant:

Nice update, though.

P.S: Sorry about not reading the readme. I started it but didn't finish, if it makes you feel better :P

#323097

OK, already found a few minor bugs, which were present since early 2.x versions (AND NOBODY TOLD ME!!!). There'll be an update soon.

EDIT: Tested the new version on another machine running bare WXP Home. Everything's OK. But the Nightcrawler's icns files won't open anyway, just like any other icns extracted directly from Mac-oriented zips. Those icns files seem to have obviously different inner format not recognized by current version of LibGFL

Here's a new skin. Not the best I can, just a five minutes of relaxing work in Photopaint. It's iTunes. Soon I'll post the Aqua skin update

#323955

oops I didnt see the update... downloading. Thanks again :)

#324841

Here's the promised Aqua skin update. Stripes are more subtle and the whole look fits most Panther themes. New format and some changes in this update increase the performance of iC2.2 skinning engine.

Thanks for the updated skin :)

#326513

i have a req feature can u allow icons to be sent out as pngs? and also a drag n drop function? instead of browse

#349474

PNG saving(if you mean that) is used by default. DaD is partially supported (try drag the files onto the Source and Overlay panes). If you ask for more, please, explain what you want

#349530

A reflection effect option would be nice (reflect the overlay image).

#349607

You mean flip it horizontally or vertically? Doesn't the negative sizing work (width = -64)?

#349704

Thank you so much RIMMER, really one can not thank you enough for it.

#353655

hey,

sorry I didn't read the whole thread, but when I hit the button to hide any category, it resizes the window - but also in the width! So if I choose to hide three categories, I haven't access to half of the content of the interface :(
