Object Dock Plus Is Like Drag Thing

My Od+ runs like a dream. Only 2 crashes. And btw you can remove the shadow, just use photoshop and edit the background.

And I agree with Septimus, that stability seem to be very different per user. It is so.

@Unbeliever, you call people stupid here, but it took you 30(!!!) minutes to find out that dock can be resized. Funny eh? No offense tho

"It took me 30 mins to find out that i need to manually resize it so it would stand vertical rather than horisontal when put on the side" -- Damn, it took me two days to figure this out. I must be really stupid.

The fly-out menu crashed on me...5 god damn times! I actually never saw the effect!! The dock just freezes!

What I found here is it just freezes if the flyout menu was located in a tabbed dock. However if the flyout menu is in a normal dock, it seemed to work ok for me. This seems like a rather large bug and I should have mentioned it in my initial impressions.

Every developer deservers to get paid for his work. Because there is free software out there, doesn't necessarily mean that everyone should work for free. If you believe the price is too high for what you get, then just don't buy.

I've never used ObjectDock either (at least for more than a couple of days), but I wouldn't like to see its development stopped. Every "competitor" causes the others to constantly try and improve their work, which we all benefit from after all.

So when I have nothing good to say about someone's work, or nothing useful, I prefer to just shut up.

I definately agree that every developer deserves to get paid. Software development is a very difficult and often thankless job. However, not all software comes with a money back guarantee if you don't like it, and once you've purchased it, if it doesn't do what it says it should, one gets upset.

I really have to disagree with you on your last point though (I don't know who this was directed at). As a developer, if someone has something bad to say about the software I make, I not only want to hear it, I need to. Software doesn't get better because everyone shuts up or says "Its perfect! stop immediately!" It gets better because people suggest improvements, submit bug reports, and discuss the things that they don't like so that they can be improved in future versions. Just sitting there any not saying anything deprives yourself, the developer, and other users of useful suggestions.

I wouldn't take the time to post my impressions and what I think doesn't function well in OD+ if I didn't care about it and want to see it improve. Because we want to see OD+ become better we need to say when something doesn't work, or how it could improve. Maybe I'm wrong here and maybe Jeff doesn't agree with this, and If thats the case he can let me know and I'll shut the hell up. In my experience though, most developers like to know how they can improve their software.

I didn't imply that only positive comments are welcome. When I mentioned "useful", I meant comments, suggestions, bug reports, etc. Constructive critisism is different than "your program sucks". I agree 100% with you. Sorry if it was not clear enough in my first post.
