I have found (after looking at some CSS files), that html>body #stylenamehere works to fix some of IE's rendering problems.
Edit:
Note: I am using #stylenamehere as the example.
Okay, you put the html>body #stylenamehere below which ever part shows up well in Firefox/Safari/anything else that renders XHTML/CSS correctly.
You then copy the text from #stylenamehere into the html>body #stylenamehere section and modify the original text to parameters that show the particular element well in IE.

I never left, I've just been very, very busy at work of late, and the stress of it all has tired me out. Tired Stevie = earlier to bed = not so much A-S time.
As of Friday, my current main project at work is going to be pretty much over, and I'll be working on personal projects (i.e. I'll spend my days playing with XHTML and CSS), and so have more A-S time
