[release] Icolorfolder V0.3

iColorFolder is a little Open-Source app which allows you to change the color of your folder with only a right-clic. Actually, it basically simulates the Color Label feature of Macs. It is fast (written in C++, and doesn't stay in memory), now skinnable and provided with an OS X skin and a XP skin by Binary.

The soft is available in both French and English (in the same package, see the ReadMe or LisezMoi file).

Here is a little preview :

From what I see in the screenshot, it just creates a "color symbol" on the folder, its nice and something to begin with :D

#150263

oh yes, it's only a little colored circle, and not the full folder icon which is colored, but it's just because I haven't any full-colored icons... :(

If someone want to send me them, I just have then to rebuild the resources. :moon:

Great app! Really great!

One thing: I think it should be "themes supported" ;)

#150295

Thx a lot, I've updated the first post. It looks nicer now. :)

#150300

why is the icons so low quality??

#150304

... and it's 0,5 Mb now.

#150309

dont think he used 128 , 96 seems to be the highest

#150310

I changed the icons to recoloured XP folders:

The app works great, thanks alot!

Maybe you could add 'skin' support? so that we could pick our own icons, or sets others have made :)

I used Magbi9,s png,s and made new icons with larger sizes and it looks good now great job people...thank you

#150321

Yes, I've reduced the maximum size of each icon, to spare some space and increase speed (does it ?). But I can set icons again to 128 if someone use it :) This will corrected in 1/2 h

And I could make the app skinnable, yes. I suppose an ini file and some specifics folders could do the job, I'll work on it.

That's it ! I've upated the file with 128*128 icons, and added an uninstaller too.

It'd be great if we could both pick the icons and set the text labels for the contextmenu, then the app becomes a bit more than just colour labels :D. Also, is there any way to make folders have a specific overlay like the shortcut overlay? That would be wicked if you could add say a 'burn' overlay icon on a folder meaning that the folder had files to be burned and whatnot. Just suggestions :)

And would it be possible to make it work with multiple folder selections?

Chris

#150355

Great suggestions there, Binary :)

#150383

This **** is off the hook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you.

I love it. This is WAY closer than I got to the color label mock up.

This goes on my list of the must do everytime I reinstall Windows.

This amp really tricks Windows. Just look at the pick below.

Folder.jpg

It even colors the icon when viewed in Properties.

This is color then a color label behind the icon text. Try color icons Mac users! :6

#150391

well, pathfinder (a mac finder app) does this exact thing.. so mac users can do it!!

#150392

Thank you very much, it works flawlessly! Very nice app, great addition ^_^

#150402

I agree with Binary "It'd be great if we could both pick the icons and set the text labels for the contextmenu, then the app becomes a bit more than just colour labels"

Anyway it does not appear to work for me??? :(

Is it because my windows directory is located on D (d:\windows\system 32) and not the defualt C? (If anyone know?)

Anyway, keep up the development on this kemenaran and it looks like a fabulous program

#150421

what a wonderful app you have done dude !! i really like it !

Cooool !!!

#150454

i am amazed how easy this is to work. it took me a minet to have almost every main folder customized.

very nice work. cant wait to see V1.0

#150458

excellent. simple. beautifull. lots of potential.

A+.

:woot:

#150469

now the finders developers here should either integrate this to their right clicks options or use the normal windows rigth click...... :D

IMHO
