[release] Flyakitesp1 V5.1

Actually I have yet to install 5.1 but I have tried 4.0 on 2 updated systems at the time and got the network error. 1 intel sys and 1 amd system. Error is exactly the same on both. AMD sys is Pro and Intel sys is home. I probably should just try 5.1 and see if that eliminates the issue.

I just fully updated my laptop (intel) so I might try it tonite.

On a side note I did have problem with windowblinds and a MSN broadband utility. Fixed that issue by setting the .exe to ignore in windowblinds. That was one very annoying. Runtime error.

I think the major cause of this particular problem is the particular files associated with their version build. e.g. using the older version of package is overwriting the newer files and vice versa and hence conflicts. I had no problems with version 4 of flyakites package on a fresh install of XP-Sp1a as those file builds were virtually identical to flyakites files.

Don't ya just love windows updates.. NOT :rant:

and see if it shows up there. If not, I'll see what else I can do (look at it in my Add/Remove and look at the uninstall link).

I just tried reinstalling it with everything off. And the uninstall appears again. Doing so I was able to uninstall it totally because I had trouble launching nhl2004.

Hello Flyakite. I just ran this scanner that looks for hacker hooks and turned up a bunch of files that I think were replaced by your files. I may be wrong but I saw a backup of the shown file so I assumed your files replaced it. I'm wondering if these are false positiives. Please let me know what your thoughts are. Just should note that I installed 5.1 and network connections error no longer occurs. I had to install in safe mode for files to install properly without getting windows errors.

Excuse me, but how did you guy manage to replace the user32.dll with the backup one? I keep getting the message file is in used and it doesn't let me replace it or do anything to it. I even try safe mode and it still the same problem.

Also, when I install the Flyatiespl V5.1.

Whenever I restart the login screen panther popup and lag. Then when at user login, no user is shown and it lag for quite a bit then the user is display. I also have some problem with network. I can't get network property to be display. Also when install I keep getting a message "Window file been change, please insert Window XP SP1 Pack Disc. Then I can click ignore cancel. Is this normal?

Hey, i have noticed 2 things. one of which may be a bug, the other which is more a request.

Firstly the bug, For some reason my C drive icon wont show up. Like will will flash to the correct icon, then flash to an unknown file icon. (this is possibly a **** up on my part.. So if you have any suggestions on what i can do..please do tell)

Secondly, the request. I hate active web pages or whatever on my desktop. I have noticed that it now loads, but i can not turn it off... So i manually closed it off in tweakui, but i was wondering if you can have the active desktop disabled by choice during install. (i hope this is due to your file rather then some sort of **** up on my part)

I just installed it, and have a bit of a (potential) problem here...

After the restart, and I log in, a "My Documents" window pops up, and the background is black. Nothing happens at all. Task manager says that nothing special is running, so I figure that it isn't the copying/replacing of the icon files that was mentioned.

Is this normal or should I uninstall and go from there?

** I fixed it, I took regedit.exe from the windows directory and overwrote it onto the windows\system32 directory

If you read the thread a few pages back, Flyakite said he'd be on the road for work without regular internet access for a while. Just put up with the un-modded infrared stuff for now. It's such a small issue in an otherwise great package. When he gets back, I'm sure he'll be ready to take on new suggestions for his next release.

Hopefully someone can help me out here... i love the files that flyakite has created here.. but the only problem i have is that my control panel is no longer the same, and i see no more option for classic view or otherwise. The reason i need my control panel is because it's a part of the shellstyle when making themes so i have to know what it looks like when making a theme, and i can't seem to do that. Can someone help me out. Is there a way i can make it look like it used to without uninstalling the whole flyakite pack.

Great package indeed, small issue, I agree, my fault, true. Alltough, I was just trying to highlight this because many have infrared devices and an Airport (maybe)-like infrared mod would look really great.

flyakite i need some help bigtime...

i need to uninstall the flyakitesp1 on my system.. i mentioned earlier that i wanted my old control panel back.. so i went to uninstall and it gave me the choice of what to uninstall.. so i chose system preferences, it did remove that.. however i'm stuck with everything else, and NO uninstall file, i dont even see the flyakite folder in program files anymore, but it is still installed.

Now i know everything is backed up in the BACKUP folder.. but i need an uninstaller or something.. if i reinstall it's probably just gonna take the already modded files and put them in the BACKUP folder thinking that they are the windows system files..

can someoen help me please!!

you could copy the backup folder to another location... then install flyakite again... then copy the backup folder back to "backup" and then unistall everything. That would work right?

okay bzeitler that did work.. however it still did not fix my issue for some reason..

i still cannot change between classic view and catagory view in control panel, when i go to control panel all i see are the icons so it's in classic view.. and no option to get catagory view anywhere..

can anyone help me.
