Aqua-Soft Forumswell underclocking does make the cpu alot colder without that much of a performance drop. those 100 mhz more are like a 5% performance gain for the tasks my sis does (surfin and crap) but the less heat it produces the slower the fan spins the more silent it is. she wanted it silent i made it silent, thats the way it is. read www.silentpcreview.com if your intressted in silencing and stuff. underclocking cpu's is a very good thing in terms of silence...
