So.. you like torturin gyourself and watch xp boot as a hobbie? .. interesting

#95532

ive put windows xp on a 233 mhz mmx cpu pc with a 4 gig harddrive and a 256 color pci vid card ! BUT THAT MEANS SUPER SLOW AND FREZZING i even had on 64 mb of ram but windows serer 2003 seems t run smoother on slow computer

#95533

XP on a 133 mhz intel and a 1.5 gb hard drive. XP took up pretty much all the space on the drive, I couldnt even use the computer...it was sad, XP is too bloated. In fact, I dont think 1.5 gb is even enough!

#95553

the slowest i ever put xp on was my friend's laptop, 900mhz. ^_^

#95580

dreamz wins the Slowest XP PC Contest!

#95586

whoo!! i won! :naughty:

what? 900mhz really was the slowest. :shy: :woot:

#95588

Mine's 900MHz as well!!!

Tie? ;)

Wondering how juno on 133MHz survive...

#95593

500Mhz and 192Mb Ram for like 2 hours => win2k

#96323

The family PC at home runs WinXP Pro - 400MHz Celeron, 96Mb 100MHz Ram, 40Gb Maxtor HDD.

Luckily I never have to use it (other than to fix it :P) cos I can't stand XP (aka Windows Fisher Price Edition)

I've had it running on a PII 233 and a PII 350 with 128Mb ram and it ran at an acceptable level.

#97605

Try a 133 mhz amd 32 megs of ram and only 1.2 gigs and a 2 meg shared video mem! and it ran pretty acceptable

#97665

I put it on a P2 266 with a GeForce2 and 320mb ram and tweaked it and it doesn't run any slower than 9x did. The video card and memory helps a lot. It ran ok with a Voodoo3 too, though anything transparent was slow because the Voodoo3 didn't support hardware overlay for the transparency with the drivers I used to have to use for it.

#97680

667 celeron with 312mb ram. Ran fine

#97686

Oh!... Oh!...

433 MHz

6.4 GB HD

ran very well...

i think it was a duron 1300 ... on slower pc i usually use w2k...

#97939

uhh, the slowest computer I ran Xp on is the computer im using now that i bought for 5 bucks. Intel Pentium III 651 mhz, 192 RAM. One 6gig harddrive and one 8 gig harddrive. Works fine, but explorer.exe farts out a lot. ....and i'm missing my boot.ini file, but it still boots up fine.

#97943

A dual PII Celeron 430 Mhz with 160 RAM, a 4 meg Riva 128 video card and 2x3 Gig HD's.

It's a little sluggish compared to my main box but it runs.

Some guy on ProCooling.com managed to run XP Home on a 486DX2 66Mhz. Took about half an hour to boot, but it run. Slowly. :woot:

Ran my wifes pc on a PII 233 64mb ram matrox G100 (4mb onboard ram i think?) Fiju 7gb HDD, XP ran pretty well, wife used it for Internet, and playing some old dos games :) Fixed her box the other day, now she is running a Duron600@800 w/GeforceDDR (my GF3 next week :P), the PII has been retired to the cardboard box :D

runs better (meaning faster, alot more stable) than 98 and 2k on my sis's pc

800 mhz amd underclocked to 700 mhz

256 ram

4 gigs hdd

tnt2 gfx

#101228

Think I will win this one. haha

I got winxp home to install on a 33mhz (with turbo on mind u, lol, without turbo its only 18mhz), no sp1. Sp1 would not install. :(

Anyways it took like me about 4 days to install because of bsods.

How did I get it to install? Used a hacked bios that reports that its 350mhz and has 128mb of ram. lol

Takes like 10mins to boot.

It takes literely 1 min just for the start menu to come up once you click it. lol

Weridly it takes ie only half the time 30secs. to open. But if i try to open another window then it takes like three mins to open and most of the time it gets a bsod and have to restart.

It only has 16mb of ram, which i upgraded, it came with only 8mb. And only 350mb hard drive but I managed to get a 6gb to work correctly.

It takes about 1min20secs. for my computer to open.

Oh and this "mr. hankey" was hard to get working. I had to go though safe mode a few times at first install cause it would crash everytime when booting normally.

I had to change from winxp to classical and turned off all the special crap.

Oh and its only 24 color montior and 8inches. But the video card can only do 16colors. So everything looks like crap. And its only 2mb card. And there is no sound card or on board or anything. No modem. Nothing.

I'm so sick of it though. cant believe i got it this far...about to give it away in about 20mins when some people are suppose to get here and take it to the needed chrildren cherity. Not sure what the hell they are going to do with it. lol but i dont care.."naughty word" it...

Now back to my 2.2ghz alhlonxp 2200+ and 1gb of ram and i'm happy as "mr. hankey" once again. :)
