at my school they had an old imac (os9 slot loading blueberry) and it had a game i liked bugdom. i still remember some cheat codes for it. if you want to have software to both make your productivity higher and run the latest games get office v.X pro and it comes with a windows emulator with windows xp all 3 made by m$ (darn i'm sounding like an ms salesman) i haven't got a (newer) mac yet (mine only runs up to os8.6) but by my bar-mitzvah in march i will (hopefully) get an iMac (or eMac. i don't care which as long as i have osx panther. then i want to get a badge saying "screenshot provider")

iBook G4 933mzh with 256mb can play these games with no problem what so ever.

Age of Empires 2 Gold

Age of Mythology

Sims (lol i know)

Sim City 4

Warcraft 3

UT2k3

RTCW

Medal of Honor (low settings but still looks good)

XPlane

Worms 3d Blast

Tonyhawk 4 (comes with the ibook)

Sixtyforce (n64 emulator, mario kart runs great with sound)

Those are the only games I've tried I'll keep you posted on any other ones. :)

BTW Age of Series can play PC Recorded games on the mac version with no probs (Y) so I found 1 use for the mac

I'm just hoping that my iBook G3/800 will run Halo fine. BTW, for those who haven't heard, Halo for the Mac is finally being released December 11th in the US (not sure about the release date in other countries).

Well it better run, i just hope its not as crappy as the gearbox port even though they are porting that one, so maybe it will run better :/ I know one thing it sure does look more crisp than the pc version.

TIman,

HOw does photoshop run on that, have tried doing anything intensive with it?

#83259

I would think photoshop runs fine on it as Pro Tools LE Requires Fast computers/laptops and it runs no probs on the my iBook.

O and Timan, goto system setting, display, color, calibirate and choose the diplay to be as TV, its much easier on the eyes >.<

Hehe ok hold on *grabs iBook*

Sorry my instructions a bit lame

Goto -System Preferences

-Displays (under hardware)

-Click on "Color" Tab

-Click Caliberate

-Tick Advanced Mode

Follow the steps to suite you.

With the native gamma and all that, i have them bellow the dot so its nice and a bit darker :)

Photoshop runs just fine on my iBook G3, so I'm sure that Timan and SG's G4's handle it with ease.

Exile III worked on mac's I think...

Though i'm not sure what specs would run it.

Coincidentially, I had a friend ask another the same "What games cana Mac run and he responded with "Uhhh... Return To Castle Wolfenstien and uhh... Oregon Trail. I think thats it." I got a good laugh out of that. The elementary school days of Oregon Trail were badass.
