What i wanted to say in a previous post is the following. Basically, WinXP comes with the old Windows style. Now, M$ has a nice little program that skins windows. M$ has it enabled by default. O.K. Now there is another software company hwo has a program that does the same: skin windows.
I really can't see why a program by M$ is necessarily faster than the one of a competitor with much more experience (years ahead!) in skinning. Look at the mem-usage: a typical msstyles skin is often around 3-4 MB large. Few WB skins are more than >1 MB (if there are any, dont use such).
So why is an M$ Product better by default in their first try?
I repeat: do you use M$ Paint, which is "integrated" in the OS, or would you use Photoshop for editing a picture?

McTrinsic. I dont think you understand what Bill was saying. When windows xp is running, a specific theme is always running and skinning the windows, buttons and toolbars. If you change that theme, the same thing is happening. XP is skinning all of the windows, buttons and titlebars etc. Nothing extra is happening. Just because you are running the windows xp default theme, doesnt mean xp is not applying a theme to windows.
Windowsblinds is a different story. They dont change the theme, they use a program to go in and constantly edit the current theme assigned by windows xp, regardless of what the current theme is. This is what slows down your system a little when you use windowsblinds instead of a theme assigned using the xp theme changer.
Basically, windows does not use another program to edit the theme. The program is built in to xp, and is constanly running.
