Stop Ripping My Icons!

I mailed a member called Chick-kun a few times for ripping and raping my icons. But for some reason he doesn't care so the last mail I said that I will close down my site and will also anounce this on the major Mac GUI sites with a message that people from Aquasoft can't stop stealing other peoples work and that everybody can sent their complain to here!!!

I hope you remove this set from your site.

Can I give you guys one tip?!

Convert the sets that you download from other people and don't add or remove stuff from these sets. Keep them original! Is that so difficult?!

Keep the set like the author made it and combine stuff on your own desktop and keep these combined icons to your self!!! I mean there's no reason to publish combined icons because every stuppid idiot can do that. There are loads of icon applications that are monkey-proof as it comes to combining icons.

I think it has to do with that people want some credits for putting togheter iconsets so it feels a little bit that they made it.

What otherwise would be the reason?!

I emailed two moderators, the guy who posted the icons and a few replies in that catagory.

Nobody replied!

So I wait one more hour and than I will close down my site untill every icon of me that is intigrated in custom sets is removed!

I realy respect this site being Mac-alike enthiousistics and realy would like to help and even convert the iconsets of me for this comunity except some people don't seem to get what the problem is.

When there would be people that keep an eye on keeping the sets intact I would convert all my sets for you...

Hein - it's just about 4am in the united states right now, where most of the admins/mods live. My suggestion is to wait a little while longer until people actually manage to wake up. I understand the urgency of the matter and I agree with you completely, but it seems as if users from the US are the majority here and the timetable basically shifts over in that direction.

You'll have to forgive him/her. He/She is probably a **** and don't know better. It's very hard to control the noobs. God knows how many new threads they started over petite matters. Your converted icons are very scarce, no one really release your stuff here (as a set) He/she probably found a few here and there and probably don't have the whole set. I mean, there's NO official set for windows. So you can't say, "f***ing keep it as a set with the readme" and all.

Here's a suggestion, release a windows version. If there's this centralized place to get the icons, they would have no need to split or mix and match them. Take Rad e8's Snow.E2 for example. No one have to split the set cos they know they can go to rad-e8.com to get it.

Give him/her a few days to reply to your PM, not everyone check the forum hourly. Or wait for the mods/admin to ban his/her ass or delete that release thread.

I;, starting to get fed up with this place. Fukking noobs are destroying this place, they are filling the boards with pointless threads of "this is for so and so" and "who is your daddy and what does he do". I hate to say it but the days of aqua soft are numbered because of this. Icon designers, and app developers are getting increasingly pissed off at the disrepectful people here, and pretty soon there will be no new stuff, and this community will fall to the likes of other communities just a gathering place for mindless chit chat.

Note to mods, sooner or later you are going to have to start verifying new posts by noobs before they are actually posted.

Time was i could come here and read what was new, check out new stuff that was released etc etc etc. Anything aqua related, it is more and more becoming over run by non aqua related bull sh**. I am slowly finding myslef coming here less and less. I get tired of reading posts about how some designer is pissed that someone ripped his work and reposted it, because it simply shouldnt happen.

this place needs some hard core spring cleaning, yes it' elitest, but if people dont know how to behave in a community then they shouldnt be in the community.

Tell me the name of the user who rip your work (as you say its not his first time, or actually its not the first time that it happens here?) and we'll take care of the situation.

I understand where he's comin from too, having work ripped blows.

I personally dislike Mac ELITISTS, those who are so convinced that they are better for having Macs and that Macs kick EVERYTHING else's ass without willing to try the alternatives, the people who spout "Windows is nothing but blue screens" and things like that. THEY get under my skin.

Zealots are fine, so long as they don't unnecessarily bash other people for using other OS's and enjoying it.

Maybe it's because i've never made anything to get it ripped. But erm.. people know who really made it. So wtf does it matter? They're not making money of it. They're not getting fame from it. They're not claiming they made them. But you cry like they just took money right out of your wallet. You made something, and put it on the INTERNET.

If i spent hours making something I was going to give away for free. I wouldn't cry a river when I saw someone else passing it out as well.
