I don't know what else to do, I've installed and re installed and un-installed IconPackager a zillion times, I've completely erased the libraries and re-installed them, I've refreshed the Icon Caché... But this error is just too weird. Please, take a look and if you can think of something, please help me! :cry: :cry: :cry:

If by "shell" you mean the shell32.dll, no I didn't.
I merely used IconPackager 2.0 to change the icons. I've used the same theme before with no problems. But all of a sudden, I saw this on "My Computer".
I tried rebooting, but it didn't solve anything.
And if by Shell you mean "Shell Replacemenent", like AstonShell, no I didn't use that either.
Nope, i meant shell32.dll... that is weird... do you have another program running that handles icons? Axilaxis Iconworkshop for example?
No, just IconPackager.
It's weird because I've always used the same program. And it's also weird, because the icons ARE THERE, if I hit F5, I can take a quick glance at them before the "Uknown File" icons take their place. And it only happens on those 3 icons.
I've also tried with other themes, and Restoring Windows default icons. Also Restoring the Icon Cache...
welll im sorry to say this is the first time ive heard about this, lemme just do a bit of searching on that, ill keep you posted ASAP if i find somehting... i know how horrible that is 
I've had this happen but I had no idea what to do. Since i've gotten a mac I haven't really payed much attention to my pc

You should consider replacing your shell icons. Its not realy hard if your replacing 3 icons, so it wont be a huge hassle. Ive always use IP, and have a similar problem of icons not showing up in the start menu, so i reshacked the shell and now they show up corectly. Also you might want to try and replace the icons with somehting out, the put the original back. This might 'refresh' the theme.
If you can explain me the process of ResHacking to change those icons, it would be great. 
THis is what i would do...
!.- Load a differnt ICon Packager program... then restart and load the one you want to use again... windows needs to be tricked into working sometimes 
2.- If that doesnt work, id uninstall IP, restart, and reinstall...
3.-If that doesnt work either, Lostspyders suggestion would be my choice (ill leave this as a last option if im not really sure i trust myself in hacking system files, but as he said is really easy, youll only need reshacker and replacer and voila)
Where they showing before? cause maybe the icons dont have the right size forwhat you ahve it set to dispaly, lets say, youre displaying your icons in 64pix, maybe in the .ico file, there is no such size for it and thus it doesnt find it...
Just throwing wild guesses here anyway...

And yes, the icons were working fine before. I also thought that somehow the icon was different size than the other icons in WinXP or something, so I went and changed the WinXP icon sizes, I tried 32x32, 48x48, 64x64 and 72x72.
Although it seemed ridiculous... =/
you dont need to replace you Icons in the Shell
Go to you device manager and remove the Drives HD that are messed up and remove them
Then Hit scan for hardware changes this Should fix the problem
same thing happen to me and this fisted it also
First try TweakUI some time's Iconpackager will not rebuild the cache completely
I think I've had a problem like that. It seems that the icon cache is broken or smth. You should try rebuilding it with another app like TweakUI or IPhile. It helped me then and maybe will help you now.
Or (hardcore solution which can be very useful if nothing really helps) you can try DarkVageta's method.

If even shell32.dll replacing doesn't help, I don't even know what else to suggest.
DarkVageta, btw, you can't remove windows install drive from device manager.
hey myuu.exe, there's a couple of people who had a very similar problem caused by the new nvidia drivers... so if you have nvidia and you upgraded your drivers,
you'll want to revert to the last ones you had: heres a quote:

i personally walked her trough the shell replacement trough msn... it didnt work wizard...

:rife: heh, quick draw. nah, i just had that tab open when i opened her thread in another tab. It worked for one person(djlethal) and not for another(impufion): just damn strange that card drivers
would effect it for some people. Maybe an easy fix if myuu's on nvidia.

She tried another program, replacing the shell icons, clearing the cache. Do they work when she puts the normal icons back on? I'm sure its an easy fix, we are just not thinking of it!
they only worked when she went tinto safe mode, i thought it might be some program that shes running or spyware.. ( yes hse didi an adaware scan too)...

Adaware will only catch programs that are going out to the internet or information coming from the internet. And they do run in Safe Mode. Did she try to get the latest driver for her graphics card, no matter what it is. Oh and try this, Windows Key+R and MSCONFIG and see if there is anything weird in the startup tab, or for anytab in that matter.
