ok then what is on topic discussion in the general discussion forum?
I think it should be enabled in Gen Discussion too.
I mean, General Discussion doesn't give people the right to be an ass or start a flame war.

How about we create a thread of off topic posts. Then no off topic posts will be posted where on topic posts will be posted. And then how about enabling the respect rating in general discussion?

do i get penalized if i post an on-topic post in the off-topic thread? 
i think people are just playing... you can't be that much of a dink in general discussion, people can just ignore you if your a knob. Only has much effect in the other forums where you don't want to get to bogged down by idioecy.
OK, no more arguing over this, I get the feeling people will start padding their post counts
