Use Respect Properly

We have a great new feature on this site, RESPECT. Its a way for users to judge other users. Everyone likes being judged!

Please increase/decrease someone's respect if:

They say/do something really nice

make a very repetative (spammy) post and they've been here for a while

say something really offensive

try to start a flame war

participate in a flame war.

Us mods can't always do everything, and I think people would stop the insulting/spamming/and flame wars if they knew that others would hold them accountable.

For example:

Some (remaining anonymous) members have been really insulting Duckie. Its ok to jest, Duckie has hard skin, but there is no reason to say some of the things that have been said.

Also, please don't uselessly use Respect, "his avatar is cool" is not valid, though there isn't anything I can do about it.

Lastly: If someone has already lowered/raised a members respect for a particular thread/post, don't do the same, unless they continue to do whatever they did, someone shouldn't go to (negative)40 respect because of one post.

Yeah, but don't go overboard on that. Like I said, we don't need 50 rep raises for one thing. I'd say, at most, 3 people can add a "thanks for Skin [A]" raise.

I think someone should only increase or decrease someone respect level on the guys quality of posts n how they feel abt that person. eg : helpful, stupid, caring, funny, ****head, attitude, manners, nice guy, spammer, good sense of humour, always rude, flames all the time, etc

this way one person will only increase or decrease someones respect level once and that way we will know what ppl think of him of what he does on the board n not every now n then for his work like when he releases like a new wallpaper, icon, VS, app, etc.

It should be basically on what or how u feel abt the person

just my 2 cents.

ummm....no. There is a reason that the thread is tagged along with your "comment". Its because you raise/lower someone's respect based on a specific thing they did in a thread.

I think "respect" is misleading, "rating" would be more apt.

I just punished my first disrespector. It made me feel like a big man.

Respect should be turned on in the "General" folder so that I can punish all the people who post about things other than Aqua skinning. That is a lot of punks who need to be brought down a notch.
