Firewalls on your computer will block the download..

and if you have a pop-up blocker program, it will also disable downloading from skinbase..

if anyone knows of a server i can have access to, that i don't have to pay for, i would be more than happy to move tie files to it..

I'm also desperately trying to get the files.

j450n, try Tripod UK or Brinkster or some free hosting services. Open up a few accounts if you must. Or maybe register at devart.

Hi there, ja450n. First off, thank you for the fantastic X-port 2.1 visual style. (Y) It looks fantastic and is one of only two Panther-like styles that don't suffer from the IE scrollbar issue.

I'd like to cite, however, two bugs I've encountered from using the visual style, specifically when launching Bee Icons and WinRAR. In the former, I get a floating point error, and while the latter coughs up an error and refuses to launch. :( Of course, these could be related to other issues, but when I switch to another visual style--say, the similarly excellent Guipod--the aforementioned applications run without any problems.

All things considered, I love your visual style. I thought you just might want to know about these issues maybe related to it. Again, thank you for the style.

I get those same bug as jennings with WinRar and also PhotoShop CS started freezing after using for about 5 minutes (I couldn't select a brush or the magic wand for instance).

I have all the fonts installed, but the buttons have huge text on them and the words run off (so you can't see the whole word).

Running XP ProSP1 with P4 2.4 ghz and 1 gig of ram(PC333).

So I can't use the theme, but I loved the way it looked. Great job on the graphics!

make sure you apply both the patches, in order..

and it should correct the floating point error..

but the buttons have huge text on them and the words run off (so you can't see the whole word).

the fonts are a problem with windows..

there's yet to be a good Aqua skin, with highly accurate fonts..

no one can seem to get it just right.

PhotoShop CS started freezing after using for about 5 minutes

i don't know bout that one.. i have photoshop 7, and it runs fine.. i've left if up for hours on end before, and no crashing..

if you have applied both the mozilla and FPE patches. and you still get an FPE error, running programs, let me know..

You have to tell me how you pronounce your name....isn't that 1337 lettering supposed to say 'jefferson' and not 'jason'?

I'm sorry but it's freakin killing me...

hehe.. it's not l337.. :6

it's how i write my name..

jayson..

i don't write my 4's with a closed top. so they look like y's.

also.. the number 450, is represented in my "Icon" that you see under my name.

the remaining letters in JA450N. are " J A N ", which stand for Just A Number.

the number 450 it's self represents me..

the 4 being the square, and the four corners, or four winds that guide us

the 5 being the star, the human with 5 points, head legs and arms.

and the 0 being both circles, the infinite ring, the spirit within the star, within man, and surrounding the star, the spirit that surrounds man.

so, it's just pronounced "Jayson", however, some of my friends insist that it would be "Ja-hoor-fin".

the big explination is why it bugs me, when people mis-spell my name... <_<

below, is the original graphic, that i aquafied for this site.

Hi there, ja450n. Again, thanks for this really great visual style. I did apply the patches in sequence after installing the VS but I got the FP error even then. Anyways, I don't use Bee Icons so much, but WinRAR is a utility I do use on occasion. I'm happy to report, however, that I don't get any errors with the standard version of Photoshop 7.0.

ok...

try this.

browse to the x-port2 theme folder..

right click on X-port2.msstyles and go to properties.

then.. look at the "Modified" date.

if it says september 23, 2003 then neither patch was sucessfully applied

if it says september 24, 2003 then the mozilla patch was applied but not the FPE

if it says october 01, 2003, then both patches are applied correctly, and you should have no problem..

i've installed both winrar, and bee-icons, and get no errors..

i checked also, by downgrading to the original 9/23/03 version of X-Port2, and bee-icons crashes..

if the date is october 01, or you have problems installing the patches, let me know, and i'll help in any way i can.

#83626

@ja450n: :D I tried again by using the 2 seperate patches instead of the one which comes with the VS. It works the way it should now!

Also one problem I was having with the fonts I solved. I have been using ATM and wasn't aware, but it thinks Lucinda Grande and Lucinda Grande Bold are the same file and was overwriting one with the other. Then I noticed it has the option to keep the old file, so now I have both installed. And I had 2 versions of LucindaGrande, one ttf and the other atf. I disabled the atf version because it sets the size at 24 with no other option. (in the advanced options/Display Properties dialog)

So now I can use your beautiful VisualStyle and live in peace and harmony. :smartass:

Hi there, ja450n. I reapplied the patch again as instructed but I still get similar errors from both applications. The modified date on the visual style is November 25, 2003, while it lists September 23 as the date created.

At any rate, I guess I should refrain from using either applications while using this visual style that I really think is fantastic.
