while I"m on a roll, could you please add a way to control the volume of the dock sounds?
It would be so nice to be listening to music and click on the dock and have just a subtle sound rather than the dock competing with the percussion.

I agree For now, I just went into sndrec32 and clicked on decrease volume a few times.
can we lock the icons? so we won't drag it out of the dock accidentally?
I think a nice feature would be to have a list (like the minimization exclusion list) of applications that, if they are running, the dock should hide, and come back when the application closes Some of my applications *cough blender cough* don't like XWD, and it'd be nice to run some apps fullscreen too

I completely agree.. this would be a wonderful feature to eliminate the terrible flickering by both the dock and media player (Media Player Classic) when playing ..was it divx? xvid? or ffdshow...
Would be nice that when a stack is activated, it keeps the same icon instead of becoming the kind of rounded-square with an arrow in it.

Customizing the skin is not always comfortable, It would use only ONE icon, but , if i have two different stacks with different icons, it wouldn't match.

So, I would like an option to use OPTIONALLY the "Stack on/off" icons from skin.
What's needed is something like this (from OD+, Thrash 'Preferences' Window) for both Trash and Stacks:

I agree wholeheartedly This way, newbies won't have to create custom skins (or ask to create custom skins 
) and it solves the multiple-icons problem.
I do think there should be a collection of default icons (shishimaru's icon set) like in OD, just have them completely changeable

I have sort of a simple request. When I'm viewing pictures via the gallery (which is great btw) I'd like it to hog more of my memory so that I can view the pictures more quickly instead of having to wait for them to load every couple of pictures. Would it be possible to have an option under the misc. preferences to Optimize Gallery?
Also Something I think would be over the top, is to have stacks inside of stacks, and have a stack full of galleries.
For ObjectDock you can do stacks inside of stacks by combining Matonga's Stack docklet with the Standalone stack. Perhaps we could do a similar method for this?
Just a thought.
well im not sure if someone posted this so sry if they did [ i didnt see thought but] i would love to have the dock be able to position on the left or the right of the screen like on the real mac and object dock etc.

You did play with the blur and opacity right? Because my reflections are pretty damn close to perfect Of course I realize it's matter of opinion, but I didn't check those twaks at first and like you I wasn't overwhelmed by the feature... just my 2¢!!
Hi all, I just started using XWindows Dock and I love it. Few things I'm still missing though:
The popup on mouse-over function is great but it needs a settable delay (like on OD+) to make it really usable (so it pops up after the delay when you keep your mouse at the _edge_ of the screen). An option to make it go back to where it was in the background when you move the mouse of the dock again would also make this popup thing work a lot better.
I would love to see a docklet that clones the Start Menu.
Minor issues:
The 'Delete from dock' item in the context menu really needs to be in a submenu (to prevent accidental clicking, maybe 'Quit' as well)
Rendering of the panel, probably the stretching part looks a bit rough (jaggies)
When rendering reflections with higher blur values curved edges become jagged.

the option to hide pictures and video from stacks. it would make it better when you have a stack from the desktop, and a separate gallery from the desktop, with the desktop icons hidden.
Forgot to say that AveDesk 1.4 compatibility would be groovy as well.
Ability to change the 'full' and 'empty' trash icons independently [without making a separate skin]! Something like in Object Dock
the ability to hide the dock when certain apps (like winexposé) are open so it doesn't interfere...
I would love to see some more mouse-over effects besides magnify, like a pulse/glow effect, a ripple effect (maybe just ripple the reflection, like it's water) and a bounce effect etc.
I would like the ability to pin objects (icons, staks, doclets) to the the dock because I frequently drag some of my stuff off the dock by accident (and then I have to manually replace them). This is not something too complicated, I think, but is really useful.

- shadow adjustment for stack
- realtime update settings without the clicking of "Apply"
