I am looking to buy a new PC and before doing so I wanted to check here to see if anyone knows a better computer.

My budget is $1000. I'm looking for a dual quad core... basically it just has to be insanely powerful.

Does it really? What's wrong with the proccessor? 2.2 Ghz Dual Quad Core. If anyone know any better computers please tell me. Also I was looking at the graphics card... is that good? I mean it got SLI but... 256? Also isn't the graphics card low quality?
I don't really know much about hardware so any tips would be awesome.
That's actually a really great machine. I'd stick it with too. And, that graphics card is a nice one. You'd play CoD4 with everything on/high no problem 
I'm just saying that I don't see a huge improvement in the overall quality of AMD, compared to Intel. But either way, I'd take that PC anyday. Hell, forget CoD4, you could probably even try Crysis on high.
i'd buy a mac.

Also, a Dual Quad core? Two Quad cores? What, pray, do you plan to do with this PC, crack 512digit hexidecimal encryption codes, while browsing with 1500 tabs open, and playing Crysis maxed out in your upper left monitor, of which you have 12?

Thanks for the re-assuance guys. I guess I'll buy that one. I mean really don't know that much about the hardware side of PC's so this really helps. LOL, funny thing is the mac I bought 2 days ago was 1400 and it only had a dual core, 2.4 Ghz, 1 GB of Ram and 250 GB harddrive now now for 800 dollars I'm getting a monster PC.
Oh yeah another question, for example lets say my computer has a 2 GHz Dual Quad Core and I'm playing a game which requires 2.0 Ghz to run, does that mean that my computer is running at 2Ghz x 8 Cores = 16 Ghz? Or what? I'm not to sure how the Dual Quad Cores work.

I'm pretty sure it means that each core is running at 2GHz. I don't know if multiplication comes into play though

I already have one 22" widescreen and a 19" flatscreen hooked up. The new computer has an internal 750 GB harddrive, if I want more I'll just take out my second 500GB harddrive from my other pc running Ubuntu, leaving it with the other 500 GB drive cause I never really use it.
All together I have (after I buy this new computer) 3 computers, one being a 2.4 Dual core running Ubuntu with a 24" monitor, a Dual Quad Core, 5GB Ram over a terabyte of space with dual monitor (the 22" and 19" I was talking about above) and a AMD 64 X2 Dual Core laptop with 2 GB of Ram. All hooked up wirelessly. And don't get my started on my sound system I don't wanna make you jealous lol.

Your graphics card is fine -- SLI uses dual 256MB, but instead of doubling, it mirrors it. So you have 512MB, but 256MB is being used twice. (you get what I'm saying, hopefully?) Also,

You have shared video memory AS WELL AS the 256 SLI Memory. I don't know if the 1919MB will be used on the integrated chip, or count towards your external graphics -- the manufacturer was unclear about that. In my theory though, that the shared video memory is universal, allowing 1919 of system RAM to be allocated towards *any* video device -- adding towards your SLI'd 256MB. So, in theory, you'd have 2175MB available for video, 256MB would probably be counted first for its performance.
LOL, no. 2GHz is 2GHz. The clock speed doesn't multiply for every core/processor you have extra.2Ghz x 8 Cores = 16 Ghz?

Lets say the computer runs at 2.0 Ghz and a game requires 2.6 Ghz. Even though I have a Dual Quad Core will that mean I can't play it?
