im going loco...any updates maybe on that vs? ![]()
Loco released!
still waiting for the resources...
I'm trying... I'm reeeealy trying. Just so many tiffs.... tens.. of thousands... of tiffs...
If only there was any other way to do this... this is torture X_X....
Levi... lol... Check your PMs  ![]()
thank you guys so much for your hard work! It is REALLY appreciated (i do realize you have lives outside of the almighty internet!)
- where the port is at, for all interested-
I have passed on the resource packs. The trouble lies in that there are many many resources to be sorted into thier various types.
Phantom Lord has taken steps to begin the port, but its like an ever increasing wall... The resource images for the main elements are difficult to find amongst all the other elements found in MacOSX themes.
Furthermore, each image then has to be cut to size and adjusted for use with a completely different operating system.
Furthermore, each image is treated differently by Windows than it is Mac OSX in terms of transparency. Meaning that the porters (Phantomlord and Bapestar) would have to go through every one of my tiffs, convert it to a bitmap and add in a background (by manually selecting pixels) and make them pink (the colour that represents transparency).
Its up to the porters to decide whether or not its worth the effort. It would be simpler to create a windows blind port than a msstyle port... Anybody?
Then once its in a wb format it should be easier to then port to msstyle rather than all in one big hit.
I have offered to export the tiffs into sorted folders for the main elements, so that its easier to locate the resources amongst all the other rubbish piccys.... but that really all i can do on my end.
alright, no volunteers lol.i think it's safe to say that a VS for Loco is Muerte (dead)
?
perhaps dead on the xp platform buddy ![]()
its been downloaded 1629 times for Mac OSX. While the site has had 2418 hits.
I think if it remains popular eventually someone with the time, energy and know how will port it. But as with any port, you shouldn hold your breath.
Any update yet? I've looked through gazillions of themes and visual styles in DA and Customize.com just to find this perfect one, and just to find out it's only for Mac T.T
Probably not going to happen this long after the fact.
What I'd like to see, though is the modded Project Red wallpaper released separately. I don't want to go through the trouble of messing with a guikit (I just bought a Mac, I have no clue what the hell that extension is) for the sake of one wallpaper.
Oui?
anybody doing a windows vs or wb port?
Phantom_Lord is supposed to do a port for Windows, but it seems like that those files are just too many for him. =P
yeah, i've read as much in previous posts...
the reason i was asking about any windows port was that playing around with SS5, i was able to recreate the theme elements (am using gimp and inkscape) based on the screenies in the Loco gallery. and i'd say i like the clean minimalist look/effect...
@ Kinsemon i can give you the guikit, resource based dlta file or.... any other resources.
The port is open to anyone seeing as it has been abandoned. What I can't do however, is port it for you. If you want to recreate the theme on Windows, then you will need to convert all the bitmaps into the appopriate sizes (there are literally hundreds) and formats and then move them into an msstyle file or similar.

sure mate.
if the files are in windows compatible file formats (eg. .bmp, .png etc) much better. if not, you can always recommend any free file conversion apps. i emphasize 'free' hehe...
send it to eamon_63@hotmail.com.

@ Kinsemon Photoshop? Just record it then batch it....
Wait, you are using gimp. You can try to script it. But that'll take longer ![]()
@ Levi, what do I do if I want to port it? Do I just convert it to appropriate size then use them in Windowblinds?

hmm. yeah, well maybe you should do it mate, as i have limited resources, except time (relatively speaking) hehe.
it would be relatively easier if there is a graphics program which runs on Windows than can read guikit and/or .dlta file formats directly. as it is, there is a lot of howling, head-banging and hair-pulling even with guikit to .dlta file conversions in mac forums LOL.
i think the best/only thing i can do is replicate the elements if Levi can give me high resolution screenshots in .png format...
Hmm.....
@ Xiang its quite complicated to port. and to be quite honest, I dont even know how to do it on Windows, and i created the darn theme.
@Kinsemon... i cant get you the dlta files.... but, your saying that causes issues?...
As for high res screenies, you're probably best refering to my Loco launch site. Furthermore I will be releasing an update to the theme that takes on a more leopard unified metal window feel... so i will post lots more screenies in PNG format then.

no issues mate, just the hassle of conversion. even mac theming is now more on guikit than .dlta.
still both are not really for windows...GIMP probably can do it, but then it would be GIMP for Mac! LOL! (i'll still check though, maybe some gimp for windows updates)
