Why choose RK Launcher over RocketDock?

Objectdock is the best dock for Leopard emulation, but is too bloated, intrusive, and plus its shareware.

Rocketdock, i know nothing about.

RKLauncher will look nasty with reflective icons if you don't fix the margins.

RKLauncher's indicators must always touch the bottom of the screen.

RKLauncher's indicators cannot overlap icons.

Items in RKLauncher cannot touch the bottom of the screen (by items i mean icons and such)

Surely there has to be a way around that.. and how do you make skins for ObjectDock, because I have yet to figure it out.

Finally made the switch to RocketDock and am definitely feeling it. Been using RKLauncher for a while and loved it. It's pretty sad how RK is no longer actively being developed, as I started to notice quirks, though It was overall rock solid. RocketDock looks a bit better I think, dunno if it's the quality setting in it or just my eyes =P.

Mainly switched over because it supports the overlay indicator, allowing for some really sweet eye candy setups. However, I did use RkLauncher's exclusion list, to hide my Steam windows, they did not behave with Rk, but to my pleasant surprise, they work just fine under RocketDock (The issue was msg window creation while in-game).

Is there a way to ignore an app, that is not minimize it to the dock? Also, only one Docklet wasn't compatible that I did use with RkLauncher, "Capture" Oh well... The second reason was also due to eye candy, reflective Icons just did not look natural to me under RK, problem solved with RocketDock =)

I've tried out all 3... personally i found object dock technically a bit inferior to rocket dock bcoz of customizability. But now i use ObjectDock Plus with Tabs.. and that is absolutely fantastic. I have mixed feelings about Rk launcher.. i've used it (the one that comes along with flyakite) and i hated the customizability range.. basically.. i didn't lyk it but as some other ppl said..ur choice.. ur preferences.. u choose

i personally dont like OD. over bloated and tabs.. yaiks!.

i use RocketDock as general application launcher, yzdock for utilities (recycle, sysstats) and rk for minimized windows.

RocketDock uses more RAM with systats while yzdock handles systats smoothly though not compatible with v2.5.11

RK becomes memoru hog the more docklets are put in the dock (same as Rocketdock)

for slower PC's, YZ Dock is the best.

dude the problem u get from the DLL hook errors it that uve been using the same docklet in one dock, if u want to use it twice u can copy and paste the docklet and rename it and paste again so u can use it! tell me if i was any help.
