Hey guys,

My partner and I have created a little program that we like and hope that you guys will to. It's to recreate the about this mac screen in Mac OS X Panther, we slightly edited it we changed the X to the new panther X. You will also need .NET Framework 1.1 to run this along with Lucida Grande. Also thanks to.

wellll thank you we tried. heads up on new apps we are going to be making is a system preference's just like macs all working menus and with animations, no stupid stuff where it links to the actual thing. it will all be intergrated, and then ichat, we are gunna try and make it work with .mac accounts 2 also if anyone can help with both it would help a lot. We need a video for the system preference's, the video will need to be of panther and have them opening all the menus and different sections and all tabs so we can get a good look with the animation and such, if anyone can help, that would be very helpful

thanks guys i updated post with the lucida grande font, because its needed to have it work, and people on neowin were having toruble, so if anyone else does its there. Also for the wmp skin its just regular wmp rolled up no skin lol and i will be in contact with you about the system preference's.

And I talked to my partner again and we are going to make the following:

Preview App

Finder Bar App(Like objectbar)

System Preferences

Finder (Like Felix)

iChat

and maybe more

also if anyone can help with pictures of the preview finder ichat and such videos or pictures could help, and thanks, all from panther please.

Developers need to keep a single issue in mind: People get excited over cool new apps. This should guide the developer in a few stages of creating an app in managing the input they receive, as follows:

2.) Development. This is where many developers start threads in large communities to show screenshots to stir up a little excitement. All I have to say is if your going to throw chum to the sharks, expect a little blood and alot of teeth!!! If you don't want the input, keep it to yourself and a few trusted people. (See a trend here?)

3.) Beta testing. Keep your beta testing closed to a handful of people you know. Lay out guidelines of what kind of response you expect and within a specific time frame. If you are going to be open to suggestions about improvement, let your testers know, if not, save them some time and let them know you only want the functionality tested as is...nothing more, nothing less. Like to help but I don't have Panther yet.

Suggestion: Use the present Jaguar as a guide and make it skinnable so that anyone can change it to look like Panther or whatever else theme they might want to use.

Very nice app. It's the only one that works properly on my PC (wish in came in brush tho).

Is that Objectbar you're using in the screen shot if so how did you get the shadow and transparency for the menus?

Looking forward to seeing more stuff from you.

As for the objectbar when u right click the bar and go to properties somewhere it should say transparent im a terrible help lol but its there

1. when i minimize it, it still shows the shadow outline... (using objectdock)

2. i don't care much for the 'always on top'.

thanks guys, we are going to remake the program so it will allow skin support so you guys can do whatever you want with it, and ill try to fix the other things, as for always on top that will stay because thats how the real mac one is

I guess I'm the only one not having any luck. I downloaded the .NET framework 1.1 and the Lucida Grande Font and I get the following when I launch:

Any ideas???
