Is it really an urban myth?

I tried it, nothing happened. Using Firefox and Vista both with latest updates.

exactly. because you used the latest firefox and updated vista nothing happened. it only works if you use internet explorer :P (6 i think)

@Croat: ^^He's right, although you might crash up using goggle with IE7, or not.

If you want to try it. I wouldn't.

i get a page with the words "Goggle.com" on it. Got the same result with safari, since i realised i had adblock running. The page source is below.

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE></TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
Goggle.com
<!-- my ip : some numbers : GB -->
</BODY>
</HTML>

#482332

I just noticed the page looks different than before. maybe they updated it or something, there is not more timer, just a few holiday ads

aww its gone away :( ...

checked it in safari and yeah, they've changed it. what a shame.

reminds me of the site;

www.something.com

anyone know of any other similar sites that can totally crash a PC?

(running firefox and SP2, + AVG, tho i can change this)

#482360

^^ what browser?

firefox 2, safari, ie7, and thanks to my uni, ie6 too. I'm not afraid of ads, i have kaspersky!

the site something.com is just plain text. its been that way now since... well it was one of the first sites i ever went to (Back in the day, i randomly typed "something.com" into the address bar).

Its been unchanged for 13 years!

as for the other sites, im not sure... anybody else have a good virus site?!

I want to totally crash my PC in a (slightly non-obvious) way... so yeah goggle.com would have fitted the description coz of its similarity to google... etc.
