Lol, apparently theres a timer on the site and if you get to 0, it all starts.

What happens if you use Firefox?

#479636

oh, i heard that it all starts after 27 seconds.

#479637

Post it to Mythbusters!!!!! It's an urban myth, right?

#479639

how is it a myth?

Either you go to the site and it does that, or it doesn't.

#479641

i tried it at school today.

myth confirmed, it really will f**k up your comp.

#479740

jesuschrist... the should sue the guy who create this site...

he's a *****

#479744

nothing happened... just a site giving away "free" stuff

#479752

wow... all you have to do is misspell google then wait 27 seconds.

Also apparently using Firefox or Opera is much safer

#479753

I tried it with Safari on my Mac... when the timer reached zero, the page refreshed. :o No doomsday for me. Maybe later I'll try it in Windows with different browsers and see what happens.

#479754

Damn; I actually had the balls to try this.

I did a fresh install of Windows XP SP1a (an old Dell Disk) on a spare external drive (old 20GB 5400 WD).

Once it was done, I did no updating; except for installing SP2. Then, I opened IE6 and typed in goggle.com

Holy crap, its true. Once the timer hit 0, the hell began. I left it sitting there, then went to get a bowl of cereal, came back, and I saw a blue screen with scrambling, unreadable white text.

Ouch.

#479759

... I seriously can't believe this site site hasn't been taken down yet

#479767

Can anyone confirm if this also affects Firefox?

Did the computer reboot normally after this? With plenty of spyware, no doubt.

#479768

this is awesome. haha.

* places popcorn in lap and watches in a cushy chair of Macbook Pro's security lab as all hell breaks loose below in the windows world*

-jk, somewhat of a wierd exaggeration. but yeah, i went to the site and nothin happened.

Ditto to Levi (Mr. Perfection there...). I did it with Camino, and got a random page. Couldn't be bothered to try with Safari.

It's boring on a Mac. But surely, it'll be interesting at school on Windows computers... ;)

school ehh... *evil laugh*

No, it didn't! The windows logo came up, got to the point of "Loading your personal Settings" then got a BSOD saying logonui.dll or something failed.

No worries though, just wiped the drive and installed Windows 98SE for fun :P. (It's a spare drive --EDIT: whoops, already said that)

If you did this at my high school, I would have killed you. Since computers only get fixed every few months. I literally had to leave Ubuntu Live CDs in half of the lab computers just so they'd work.

#479950

haha lol... I passed the link of the video to a friend of mine and he had the balls to try this... I warned him "don't let the counter reach to 0:00" but he said he wanted to try it... then he said that a bunch of porn sites appeared at his computer and that there was a red dot at the middle of the screen... and the funniest thing of all is that he said that the girl from the Exorcist appeared in widescreen with an evil laugh lmfao :P

Yes. I used firefox 24 hours ago and went to that site, waited about 15 seconds and closed it.

Nothing happened.

#479990

I've just thought of the perfect way to make my parents buy an iMac...

*secretly goes to change the Old PC's homepage*

#481592

lol i changed the target link of the internet explorer icon on the desktop to goggle.com.

Really fun :D

#481662

Does it work with the funny Vista-thingy? ;)

#481830

That's freaking amazing. Haha! Perhaps I'll try it out someday... assuming I ever get a new computer. This one is just begging to be slaughtered by popup viruses. XD

#481966

I tried it, nothing happened. Using Firefox and Vista both with latest updates.
