I like Aqua-Soft because...because it looks cool. Yeah. No, actually, it's all these resources available here and also the opportunity to show off desktop modding skills.

Well, if you don't have an account and are thereby not logged in, there is this clearly labeled Register button in the navigation area. This was the condition under which I joined; I did not have an account and was obviously not logged in, and in order to gain access to some parts of the site (notably attachments), one must be logged in. And there ya go.
How does it feel being a minority in a predominantly-male area?
Meh, I'm used to it. I'm/was surrounded by guys in my science and math classes, so whatever. I didn't play with dolls as a child; they scared the crap out of me lol, so I played with my guy friends' swords and other traditionally male toys. Unlike many of my female contemporaries, I also didn't spend ridiculous amounts of time playing tea and dreaming about my future husband (although to be fair, I do that now). I took apart electronics (and put that back together) and fixed relatives' computers in my early teens, which is supposedly what boys usually do.
Come on now, you must do something that fits the typical female stereotype.

OK, if that's not what you meant...I love fashion and shopping, and watch shows like What Not to Wear and Makeover Story. Right, and I watch Grey's Anatomy religiously, the viewer population of which appears to be primarily female. Typical, I know.

Why do you like aquasoft?
I like all the nice icons and walls that are released here. Not a Mac fangirl by any means, I just like the sleek cleanness of the Mac-styled releases and such.

I think I had asked about detailed icons on the desktop over at WinCustomize, and was pointed towards AveDesk and Aqua-Soft, so here I am.

I'm also used to it, been that way most my life. I've been interested in science, computers, other nerdy/geeky stuff since I was young, and those things just happen to be male-dominated. I wasn't much into dolls and stuff either, except for building cardboard houses and stuff for Barbie. XD I seem to get along better with the boys most the time, all the things in common etc.

SHOPPING. Oh man I'm a shop-aholic. I usually go for tech gadgets and stuff (of course!) but I can't resist shoes. Also most of my desktop configs are laden with lots of girly colors (pink, purple, baby blue, etc). What Not To Wear is awesome.

I really like the community. In my experience, A-S has been very helpful and gracious to all members. A-S members don't flame or call you 'stupid' or 'noob' when you ask questions, trying to learn something new.

No, not at all. Very fair and at times, quite amusing.

I think I was looking for icons from I screenshot I saw somewhere....wait, let me check...yep, I looking for icons and I'd read somewhere that Aqua-Soft was a great place to find help and had an amazing community. I decided to stay and check it out, try to learn as much I could.

Well, as others have said previously, it's nothing new. I've come to expect it because most of the things I am truly interested in have always been male dominated. The worlds of technology, science, and math have been historically male, but things are changing. More and more females are changing the stereotype of them being just for the boys. That's why I think there are a lot more women here than just the few that have been mentioned in this thread. They probably think that won't be taken seriously if they reveal their gender. I don't think the males here are that closed-minded (hopefully).

I'm definitely still very girly. My favorite colors are tied between blue and pretty, pretty pink. I also love shopping not just for clothes or fun gadgets, but things to decorate and furnish my apartment with. I'm kind of obsessed with that right now. I love cooking and baking, too. I have been known to sit and watch either E! or the Style Network for hours on end and completely disregard any kind of concept of time.
