[release] Panther logon screen

hi, i have made a requested Logon screen from this post:

i hope you like it.

i have made 3 logons.

one with an apple and text Mac OS X

one with an apple and text WIndows XP

and one with a Windows Flag and text Windows XP

I updatet my Logon, because you guys reportet some bugs

updates

- no shadow effect in Apple and windows flag.

- updated ? button.

if you want clear type font in your Logon so you must download tweakui from Microsoft and enable this effect.

if you report any more bugs so send me a message.

This looks fantastic - how do I get this installed? All I see is a font and three .exe's...which arent actually doing anything!

Any help on getting this working would be great.

I use Logon Loader to manage these files.

All you need to do is place them each in a separate folder and browse through them using the simple interface.

That, or you could just replace logonui.exe in the system32 folder.

Thanks, I did a little digging and found out to replace the .exe, which worked just fine.

This is a VERY nice little hack. Would some of our Mac friends be kind enough to provide standard OSX user pictures?

WOW!! Its funny that I spent the past few days looking for nice Logon UI's and bootscreens and I came up with nothing I liked. Now that I have seen this I know which one I will be installing . Very nice work and keep it up .

SO far the login replaces the standard screen quite nicely. I have two seperate log ins on my machine, and both display correctly at 1600x1200 resolution, covering the entire screen and aligning correctly.

No bugs here. Although I would like some real OSX user pics for my user picture.

great screen, but what if you only have 1 login

windows usually says WELCOME in part of its UI, but now i just get a blank osx loader screen,

anyway we can mod this up?

i think you mis-understood the post...

they wanted a logon with the panther OSX logon panel..

not that yours looks bad. but

you stretched if full screen..

that's allot of pinstriping..

bugs i found..

the apple logos and windows logos look like i'm drunk..

(it kinda makes you dizzy looking at it)

it's got a ghosted image.. was this intended to be a shadow?

on your question mark button.. there is a white square..

the pinstriping behind the shutdown button..

doesnt line up with the background pinstriping..

the background pinstriping is misaligned with the logon box pinstriping...

(infact the background pintsriping appears to be completly different from the forground, when the logon is applied)

the pinstriping behind the user icon is shifted vertically by 2 pixels..

the pinstriping behind the check button is off vertically.. by 2 pixels.

but i dont know why this things are not anti aliased i dont have that problem but you can turn this on. You must use tweakui from Microsoft than you can turn on antialiasing in logon.

but i will fix the withe square and the logo.
